Just depends on the nature of the injury. I had a pretty knarly ankle sprain and wore a boot for a week.  Probably would have been a 4 week recovery outside of a boot but I was able to get back to my activity at about 70 percent in a week and was 80-90 percent within 2-3 weeks.  Obviously pro athletics is different but they have physio specialists to help these guys expedite recovery.  We don’t know what TT is dealing with but given our depth no need to rush his return.

I also wonder what is available in the buble in terms of physio equipment. If you go in physio department on the first floor of VGH- there are just tons of different equipment that being used to get people on their feets again. Obviously, Mayer can't go outside to get some help.

How about removing the on ice refs and let 'technology' call the game. Get rid of these obviously biased, league run patsies.

That's pretty difficult with everything that happens during a game and at speed.  I know for certain that if Roussel throws either of the Myers or Sutter hits the Blues are on a powerplay and Roussel is possibly ejected. Watch any of the other games yesterday hits from behind close to the boards are a penalty.

I cannot abide those who are bashing Virtanen

I'm one of those that believes Jake should be better than he is, but I haven't watched him closely, like yourself, so I appreciate your views. Jake started the game great with that monster hit, going just off camera. But then he also took a bad penalty with getting angry and slashing. Refs are calling everything on the Canucks, so they have to be disciplined with their sticks. I'm hoping Jake uses his speed and grit more. Play like Bo. He has it in him, but maybe he lacks confidence.

I don't think removing is the answer, but supplementing on ice with tech. Challenges, maybe? Or just a matter of the NHL removing Bettman, or reviewing games for shat calls and then speaking with poor reffing refs.

I can't stop watching the replay of the OT winner. That was an absolutely brilliant pass by Hughes! You can see him spot the opening, and intentionally bounce it off the boards at the right spot to get it by the defender. It was literally "the perfect pass".

Thanks, you're right, Jake acted before he thought about it properly and took a bad penalty.

In his defense, it was not as hard a slash as it looked and his stick broke so easily it may have been (as someone posted earlier) already damaged.

On balance, the whole team and coaches are performing very well and singling out Jake is unwarranted and a bummer, imo (of course).

Agree 100%. Surely tech has advanced enough to improve/ overrule the judgement calls on the ice. Third party/ Bettman proof officiating is long overdue.

Sutter 15   shorthanded faceoffs

Horvat 2

But Horvat is handling more defensive responsiblity.....

Your attempts to claim that Sutter is 'filler'  is nonsense, period.

I could not care less about CDC 'eye tests' or who CDC is disappointed with - I don't form my opinions by herd conformity.

You can assert that Virtanen is one of the team's worst defensive forwards all you want -  it doesn't change his actual deployment over the past three years.

St Louis has had the last change the last two games - so who Horvat faces on faceoff stoppages reflects Berube's intent more than Green's.

In any event, I never would have guessed I'd be having a discussion on CDC with people that do not want to remove Eriksson from the 2nd line - would rather keep him there than Toffoli - positively bizarre imo but always lively opinions on these boards.

Yeah Junkyard's analysis is junk when it comes to the third line.
