If the average fan can watch a few games and go "wow why is Miller, Edler, QHs, Myers, et all - passing pucks across the slot infront of our own net when other players are in our zone" i'm pretty sure TG is aware of these things too.    The "panic box" that Bomber uses has to go - it kept us alive last year against Vegas - but it's not a sustainable tactic.   Nice to see all forwards come back and help....but wow.    Last game was a big improvement.   TO is a very good team.   We kept them to a few shots the first, and overall the ice tilted more towards their net.   11 seconds.   Damn bad luck more then anything.    The team can play with the big boys, we've showed that over the last 18 months or so.    Even with the changes. 

 

It's not as simple as what your saying either.    TG for sure has a noose around his neck right now but he hasn't lost the room.    Wonder what the players will do to keep him there.   It for sure will be telling.   

 

Edit:  To be crystal clear - this team isn't good enough yet to be a contender.   We need one more blue chip top six player (and that wasn't ever TT so folks please get over that, he's a career middle six player in his prime, take away his points against us and he has exactly one goal and one assist, says a lot about a player that he tries so hard when it works for him -  was a non factor in the playoffs (no heart didn't take one hit to make a play, BB did that throughout) and we still lost during the regular season with him in the lineup instead of BB, who is a better player right now - good grief) like Miller, Horvat or BB ...  we also need a 3C like prime Sutter.   We also need a long term Edler replacement, and a very good first paring D as well.   

 

And top ten goaltending.   Some of this can and hopefully will come via free agents, but some of it has to come internally too.   

 

EP and QHs are 5-6 years away from when Naslund peaked ... and 7-8 years away from the Sedins peaking.   They are special players no doubt.  Because they are much better then either of those three were at such a young age.   But they are definitely not enough.   The team make-up needs stuff to let them do their thing.   Relying on them to draw penalties is ok i guess - but i'd much rather have a roster where they could play their game without worrying about getting abused.   Myers is the only guy that has a real edge to his game at this point and that's pathetic.    Need more of that.     Horvat needs to add an edge - Miller has an edge but needs it out more often.    But wow.   The roster needs a hearty heart and soul boost.    Hogs at least goes all out every shift.   Motte too.

You mean this IBatch?  Im convinced that this box (panic box as you perfectly call it) makes the d look worse than they are.  Every time the other team gets the puck they back in and collapse into "the box".  So frustrating to see them so passive and take a penalty killing stance even when they are 5 on 5.  Look at the space the leafs have around the perimeter...

Holtby was pissed about the previous game and really wanted to get back out there. Green didn't want him dwelling on it. It was the right move to go with Holtby again last game. Demko's turn now

Fans are so upset in Canuck land. This is still a team that is in the rebuild process. The bubble team from last year gave an unrealistic expectation.  Fans need to relax.

 

I think the team will get their mojo back. These games against Calgary will see a better effort.

Can you please include things Green did wrong before he came to the rink? You know wrong tie, left the cap of the toothpaste, toilet roll empty, milk on the counter stuff. I find your posts so informative and relative it's not really fun unless I know exactly what this serial killer has done wrong today, so a little more detail would be appreciated.

 

Thank you in advance for your next 70 "I hate Green", posts. Such an enjoyable break from Canuck fans and reasonable human beings garbage posts supporting the players and team or discussing stuff like adults. It's never fun unless you're on an obsessive witch hunt I always say.

This is where you guys need to wake up hockey wise. I don't care what you think of the coaching staff, and I don't overly care one way or another myself. This above shot has nothing to do with coaching and everything to do with $&!#ty players. They're gassed and playing out of position. Notice the 3 guys sitting in front of their net covering no one. There is no way it's drawn up like that and these guys are doing their jobs. This is why non-hockey coaches calling out NHL coaches is hilarious. It's pretty difficult, even for professionals at the rink to figure out this stuff out, let alone on tv. Do you guys actually believe what you're saying?
