You know what's funny? The typical negative nancies on this board - we all know who they are - have nothing to say about this.

Makes you wonder...

Perhaps Baumer is just chiming in; kidding aside, Shaws' signing seems like a good add to a staff needing some influx of experience or just a different perspective.  Also, I commend Green and JB for clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of each.

Time for the roster tweaking to begin - fingers crossed !

Will Seattle go with Gallant? He got Vegas off the ground.

They've had months to hire him if they wanted him. But they haven't.

I'd laugh if he got hired by Arizona then went undefeated against games against Vegas.

To be fair, Gallant was busy with helping Canada win gold at the IIHF tournament. I think that says something about his ability to coach. Having Mangiapane certainly didn't hurt either.

Super glad Clarke is coming back.

Shaw is a great coach and a huge asset he should help our defensive struggles.

We should snag Mangiapane as payback for Tanev & Markstrom. They'd be in shambles, he's about the only guy they talk about positively in Calgary.

There are currently 4 head coaching vacancies right now.

- Seattle

- Columbus

- Rangers

- Arizona

I'd be curious what happens to Gallant. Because the only team that has interviewed him is New York.

Foreverblueshirts.com said the interview went well. But New York has 3-4 other candidates to interview.

But that was back on May 15th.

Doesn't look like anyone is tripping over themselves to hire Gallant.

There's also Buffalo.  Gallant was a the Worlds so teams have probably postponed interviews.

Gallant is interesting to me. He did so well with Vegas and Florida. It's interesting to me that he hasn't been able to get another head coaching job since Vegas.

He would've been one of the coaches I would have been interested in bringing here if the Canucks had not brought back Green.
