People have been speculating that because Jay Beagle isn't on the list, he's likely to start the season.  However, he could start the season LTIR if necessary?  Is the list indicative of players presumed not to play at all in 2021-22?

Players with potential career-ending injuries who have missed more than the previous 60 consecutive games (or who otherwise have been confirmed to have a career-threatening injury) may not be used to satisfy a team's player exposure requirements unless approval is received from the NHL. Such players also may be deemed exempt from selection.

If Tampa wins, will Gaborik get a ring ?

No, I think theres a certain number of games you have to play to be eligible, its not a lot though. Had the Canucks won in 2011, Hodgson (who didn't play a whole lot during the season but a decent amount during the playoffs) would've gotten a ring

I think they give rings to whoever they want. Washington Capitals gave rings to 400 employees that worked during the run.  I think you're talking about name on the cup

A player must have at least 41 games played with the club or one game played in the Stanley Cup Finals. However, in 1994 a stipulation was added to allow a team to petition the Commissioner for permission to have players' names put on the Cup if extenuating circumstances prevented them from being available to play.

Oscar Klefbom has missed all season including the playoffs with shoulder surgery.  He's not exempt because it's not considered a career ending injury although he missed over 41 consecutive games.  It's pro-rated to 41 for the shortened-season - 60 was over an 82 game season.

That article seems to suggests that they can't use him to meet the minimum exposure requirements without league approval, although he has the required 54 games over 2 seasons and is under contract next season.

The players listed as exempt due to injury are expected to have close to no chance to resume their NHL careers.  It's agreed upon with the NHLPA.

All the players listed last time around never played again.  Dave Bolland (Arizona), Craig Cunningham (Arizona), Chris Pronger (Arizona), Cody McCormick (Buffalo), David Clarkson (Columbus), Johan Franzen (Detroit), Joe Vitale (Detroit), Ryane Clowe (New Jersey), Mikhail Grabovski (Islanders), Pascal Dupuis (Penguins), Nathan Horton (Toronto), Stephane Robidas (Toronto).

Half the regular season or one playoff game I think is the requirement.

What does this mean exactly?  Ferland is likely not playing again?  Those other guys on th3 list are all done playing, no?

Yes it looks like Ferland is done.  The players on that list have all been deemed to have career ending injuries and the NHLPA has agreed.

Rings are given out by the team and given to anyone they want. It is the name being engraved on the Cup that is restricted. You need to play 41 games in the reg season or 1 game in the finals.

That list looks like a bunch of free loaders - taught some of those players are long gone: Hossa, Gaborik, Zetterberg (good to great players but getting paid for what; atleast Ferland has an excuse); and Kesler - I saw his promo for his Show and he looks fine (?).

There is something wrong with this list - smh.
