I was wondering about Parkinson's too?

I know he's hated but man...that guy runs a tight business.

^Tremors is just that or can be a side effect of medications, he may have issues. Not saying that the ‘Old schoolers’ will just let him go - even if he becomes senile!

The progressives all need to stand up! Progressive GMs & top/players need to leverage their owners. There may even be an entrenched  understanding in place, for all of Bettman’s past loyalties, to just let him retire-out on his own terms, whenever that is. He is a reviled mix-messaging hard-ass & mainly a the booable figurehead of the NHL, now. Many cities have been wronged at many times by Gary & co-Horst, and the won’t be forgetting that soon!

The league can certainly do a whole lot better than going all in with someone who cannot walk-up to a microphone without getting uproaringly booed. So many screwed-over progressive GMs, franchises, fans & cities, still see Bettman as the ultimate-hypocrite & master of deception.

Many in VanCity will be remember him with considerable distain. (NYR Messier-enabler, Bertuzzi/Moore  incident creator/facilitator, lack of adequate compensation for the loss of Luc Bourdon, un-grandfathered Luongo/contract, stacking the DPS with folks full of Canucks rivals or persons of anti/Canucks bias & for generally being a BS-spewing weasel).

Vancouver is about 7 or 8 pieces away.  Hence, not even close.

Van is about 10 years away. They would have to fire G.M. And coaching staff, do a retool by trading core players, get lucky in the draft during years of missing playoffs, lose to underdogs in the playoffs, then when the core players are all married with kids, and the media as well as fan base are giving up and demand a complete rebuild, they hoist the cup. The sad part then is the team that hoists Canucks’ first Stanley Cup will be missing many of the young stars we have right now,

I don't know what you just said but the problem is he represents the owners and not the fans.

He has grown the business very well.  Fans hate it. Owners love it. Case closed.

Montreal hit the wall

From game 5 v the Leafs to the last game against Vegas Montreal had a hot streak of games, where everything went their way. Against Tampa we saw the what the Habs are.
