Miller was the priority signing it seems so I say Miller... @aGENT Well I guess we can always trade BO or Boeser for those picks and prospects that we need to open up our window for the next 5-7 years... Also, congrats to JR/PA on a great contract for Miller. We got him signed for less than I thought on less of a term as well. I think this is the best transaction they have done since they took over the team to be honest. Let's see what they do now with BO. I say if they re-sign BO it's not going to be that 7.5 everyone has been talking about. It should be under 7 really. I always appreciate your takes and of course agree and disagree depending - but I fail to see how this contract is negative based on similar players in the league based on "stats"...not even factoring in JT's character, leadership and positive impact on the overall attitude and morale of the team (which you always mention as being important). At some point you have to appreciate certain players and pay them accordingly. I do agree the contract will not look as good in 5 years but I believe EVERY team in the league has or will have that kind of contract, it is the reality of the NHL currently. Yes we have issues on defence but these were not going to be solved this year or next by trading JT IMO. Possibly packaged with Hoglander, Rathbone etc and for a RHD, but sure. And we will still need that organizational/prospect depth from somewhere to contend. Here's hoping they're scouting the $#@% out of unsigned college/euro guys Again, I'll remind folks that basically no one wanted JT traded just because, we simply didn't want to sign him to market value and didn't expect him to actually take less than that (he did). This is still 1-2 years longer than I'd prefer, but it is WELL below market value. Therefore - I ain't mad.
