This.

Just coming to the site to say

" Don't take anything the Canuck org. says about injuries as the truth."

Seems like they are engaging in misinformation, a lot.

Maintenance day- turns into 3-4 weeks.

Dermott's concussion took quite some time to admit to as well.

Edit

Hughes not playing  " We know what he can do" turns into  Hughes has the flu"

Yes, this is very tiresome to see at this point. Either wait before you have the full details or just say the extent of the injuries to what it is.

Could we even afford him with his 2.55M cap hit?

I'm surprised TB extended him tbh (1.4M), doesn't seem like an organization who would roll the dice on a guy like that.

We would have HAD to put one of the injured players on LTIR (instead of just IR) and then sorted out the cap (make a trade) when those guys got healthy.

It would have certainly complicated things. Really, we just need to wait for the inevitable Boeser/Garland ++ trade for a D.

I get the impatience though. We can all PLAINLY see where our roster deficit is, the lack of quality, fit and succession at RD and what is likely going to need to happen (Boeser/Garland++) to fix it. We're all just waiting for that to happen...

anyone that has done anything physical for a living knows there's a difference between being injured and being hurt or banged up. maintenance days are for the the latter.

It's not being healthy that made things a bit tight - Boeser/Mikheyev need to be temporarily replaced in the lineup but it looks like Boeser could already be back and Mikheyev is already back practicing.  They would have been cap compliant with Dickinson and Myers has a similar cap hit.  They would have had to waive Stillman though.  Dermott might be LTIR eligible which would help till players are back healthy so they can re-assign the extras.

That's what I said. The extra injuries (that aren't bad/long enough to warrant LTIR) are complicating our ability to create that opening roster, with room for the injury replacement call ups (Aman/Karlsson) as they ALL need to fit.

If we were healthy, we wouldn't need replacements, everything would be fine.

Was commenting on:  "...and then sorted out the cap (make a trade) when those guys got healthy."   A trade once everyone is healthy wouldn't have been necessary.

*Or appropriate waivers (Stillman etc). They'd have to make additional roster moves once healthy.

Reading between the lines here, if they expect Brock and Quinn to come back, looks like Hogz is either 3RW (where Karlsson is) or the13th forward. Rathbone is the 7th D.

I'm curious. Who's had a better camp. Hogz or Karlsson and who's better suited to play beside kuz and petey (until mikheyev returns)

Also bravo Aman and Karlsson for making it. They came in relatively unknown and beat out vets like Dickinson for the job
