Is Dries a prospect, worth watching ?

35 goals and 27 assists in 54 games for Abby last season, and a +14.

18 powerplay goals

Age 28 and on the smallish side (5'9")

5 goals and 5 assists in 63 NHL games

Damn, hope he's ok.

My Dad in his 80's had to wait 2+ years for a hip re-replacement and was walking around on a broken femur yet these guys get next day drive through surgery service. Helps to have team doctors I guess.

Omg that's terrible. Broken femur. Ouch that's crazy. My friend had both of his done. Very painful.

Pretty unfair but it's a dicey subject I guess. Hope he's recovered well.

It’s hard to trade dead weight, now it’s harder to trade injured dead weight. Hopefully he’s not out long so we can get a bag of pucks back for him in trade. More pucks for more practice.

A bag of pucks may be an overpayment....

He's an old man of the sea...survived a shipwreck (leg busted in 16 places and was dragged into the life raft as the boat sank ). Hunter, fisherman, trapper... outdoorsy guy in his youth. Tough as nails.

I felt SOOOOO bad....as he waited for his surgery he'd sit on his chair rubbing the top of his thigh complaining that it "ached" so bad. Uses a walker and still managed to get up/down 15 stairs each day in his house so I had no idea that there was something "more" to it.

I kept reassuring him that "he'd get his surgery soon", thinking it was only the hip creating the pain. When they went in to do the surgery it was then that they discovered his broken femur! His recovery time went from a projected 6 weeks to 6 months-a year. It's been 16 months and he's still struggling and won't ever likely have the  mobility that the hip re-replacement was to provide.

sigh...been a tough go....

(Came back in for an actual on topic comment....in that I feel Pearon's really underrated on here. He's struggled lately but most of the team has. He does some good things out there that go unnoticed)

Time to unleash the kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kids?

Woo?

Lockwood, 6 points in 9 games?

Karlsson?

Bains?

Klim's got 3 points and -2 in 8 games in Abby. He's not the answer.

Johansson is in Sweden

Bains, Pederson, and Karlsson are the only standouts in Abbotsford.

So what kids?

Could we get one of Newhook or Byram (from the Avs) for Bo?

I was referring to Hoglander and Podkolzin... who have constantly been scratched and are never in the lineup with each other.

Karlsson would be a good call up. He's got 10 point sin 9 games and Bains has 6 points in 8 games... so there are kids that can come up. I do think it's probably a little early for Bains but Karlsson should be in the lineup sooner than later.

Allows Boudreau to make the decision he wasn’t willing to make.

Pearson has been beyond awful and should have been sitting for awhile now based on his play.

Yea I get Pearson has two cups, is a vet and maybe had his best year overall as a Canuck last year.

But it sounds like he was fully healthy going in and out of camp.

And he's been playing a brand of hockey exactly opposite of what he is supposed to be bringing.

I feel like his effort has been there but the results have just been horrible. I am sure he knows JR is got a across hair on his head but still he's hurt us so much more than he's helped us this year.

Sucks.

When I saw the tweet thought it said he was place... and I was a expecting waivers forgot he was hurt lol

So down a body for tonight? Unless he's already on a plane?

on a positive note, we are playing in Toronto

If you've ever travelled in Canada, you'll know all flights lead to Toronto

If there is another injury today, we might get to see Burroughs as a winger

Podkolzin, Hoglander , Rathbone is what he meant. Give them all the minutes they want.

You had to know that.

Do you honestly think that's going to be what turns the tide?

Not at all. We would only go this route to give up on the playoff chase. Allow them to make mistakes and gain experience. Instead of being in a pressure cooker, where mistakes cost you all your minutes at best. And at worst, you will sit in the press box or be sent to Abbotsford
