Coyotes just traded an AHL rhd for a gd tree.

Like to think Timmins has more than he's shown the last 3 seasons but can not fault the Yotes for picking up a 6 foot 9 250 pounds centre.

Hahahahaa seriously! Didn't even bother looking up the return. Incoming Tage Thompson 2.0

People making fun of the Leafs but at least they've acquired an RD. They went something like 3 days after losing another defenceman to injury before pulling this off. This is very similar to the Bear trade.

Is Myers off the table then? Surely Timmins isn't their answer to losing their top defencemen.

Warm body for big body. Not much more than that. Leafs still need more actual NHL.

Yeah I agree. There isn't much more to this move than that. I think they would have liked to have added a bigger name, but they need to figure out how long everyone is going to be out for + their cap situation.

They don't have the cap space for a Myers trade - any trade above 1M has to pretty much be cap in / cap out.  Vancouver would need to retain and take cap back - the retention on the 2nd year is probably an issue for the Canucks.
