Popular Post Kobayashi Maru
Never heard of him until now, however sounds very similar to Tryamkin in his earlier days. LD with size and good skating ability, however is a bit chaotic in his own zone which is more like Myers than Tryamkin. Sounds like a project D that would be worth if if we can get him to the AHL. If we can sign Tryamkin (2nd Pair opposite side), Livingstone (3rd Pair to start) and Pulli (AHL to start) it could be a good offseason regardless of the draft and other trades. Popular Post Elias Pettersson
The excitement obviously comes from the fact that this kid is 6’6″ and can move pretty well. He’s shown some flashes of offensive skill but from what we’ve heard, Pulli is a bit of a chaos creator on the backend. He’s still very young and you can’t teach size, so, this player definitely should draw interest from NHL teams. 13
LegionOfDoom
Internal competition in Abby should be exactly what we are driving for, hit or not sometimes pushes other prospects into another level. And again as stated above FREE that’s next to no risk

At least it's a case of Myers at 850k vs 6M per year. I can live with that as he's coached by our strong D coaches we have now (AHL to start still).

At least a chaos giraffe making 850K is a lot better than one making 6 million 1

Popular Post SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Good scoop by Faber. Nice to know the Canucks are out shaking the trees. Hopefully they’re going to be very active in the European and NCAA undrafted free agent market. Best way to quickly acquire some young players to fix our shallow prospect pool and depth. As for Valtteri Pulli, I haven’t watched him play (or at least haven’t specifically paid attention to him). From what I can gather from some quick internet “scouting” he’s big and quite mobile/agile for his size. Plays a smart, simple game. Nothing flashy. But you can’t teach size and the kid is 6’6” (and can skate). Read a few quotes from the past where people were surprised he wasn’t getting more attention and draft consideration. Usually guys that size get noticed and hit draft rankings based on their height alone. His stats this season may not jump off the page, but he’s got more assists this year at the Liiga level than he’s produced since he was a U16, so that’s quite a breakout year. Especially on a team like TPS, who are fairly middle tier this year, have relative low team goals-for, and seem to lack high octane offensive talent (their leading scorer has 25 points in 49 games). So it wouldn’t seem that Pulli is getting his stats propped up. He’s averaged 17:24 TOI/GP so far this season, but I can see from the lineup charts that he’s recently played first pairing, so maybe his minutes are increasing through the season. (EDIT: Just checked the game logs and he’s averaged closer to 20 minutes a game for his past dozen or so, with a couple games in the 23ish minutes range). Per Liiga.fi, his advanced stats are pretty good, with some of the better possession numbers on his team. Big Dmen who can skate are still very much idealized. Our very own Joni Jurmo is one such D-man. Absolutely gifted skater. 3 2 2

As long as he can skate and has a good hockey IQ under pressure. Myers would have been the perfect stay at home defender to clear the net and take out the opposition from moving in but he has terrible hockey IQ 1
