[Trade] Canucks trade Riley Stillman to Sabres for Josh Bloom

Recommended Posts

There was someone on here that thought Stillman was doing a good job developing into a decent defender… then again that same poster thought OEL is still a top 4 D. Whatever the case is, we basically traded a 2nd to dump Dicky for Bloom who is 19 years old and has good OHL numbers. Good few trades from PA and Co.

Next up, improve the D any day year now

Again !   More great work and scouting by Management!!

19 years old.   The upside on this prospect is what you hope to see in his latter years of Junior ,.  But at the professional level..

Young man has shown well since his 16-17 year old season.

Welcome Josh !!

He’s signed to an ELC though.

So we didn’t free up a contract.

ELC in juniors though, his contract slides and doesn't count to the 50 contract limit.

He is also eligible to return back to the OHL next season as an overage player. So potential that his contract slides as well.

We actually got a tangible asset for Stillman!?!?

The hockey gods are smiling upon us today.

Bloom is the equivalent of a 3rd round pick. (He was a 3rd round pick two years ago and has progressed at about the expected value or maybe more since then.)

Definitely a positive value move.

Honestly... Stillman was improving, not dramatically but his game was rounding out a little. He wasn't as bad at the end as most thought, started out rough though 100%.

Very happy with mgmt’s moves and assertiveness. May have caught a few CDC fans off guard but hopefully a few are coming to senses and realizing that this mgmt group is much more capable than ppl here have given them credit for.
