Last time we traded the starter and kept the backup. Before that we traded the backup and kept the starter. Another starter bites the dust... Give us your best Demko trade proposals. He’s played a few games already. He just won best player in the World Hockey Championships. He’s already too good for the AHL. He needs to play in the NHL next season. Bobrovsky was never drafted. He was signed by Philly in 2010 and immediately became their starter at age 22. Silovs is already 22. We could also try and fill our holes with a Demko trade. I’m not saying 100% that Demko needs to be traded this year. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Silovs is ready to be a starter in the NHL right now. At minimum he is our backup next season. They've got such a wealth of youth; there's a franchise that might just splurge extra on a bullseye-target. Assume they move Debrincat separately, perhaps for picks/prospects & almighty cap space. Van: Demko, Rathbone & Bear RFA rights OTT: Soogard(or possibly Leevi Merilainen), Tyler Kleven & a snazzy young fwd(Jarventie, Greig, Ostapchuk) Possibly a similar deal could be swung with a squad like Buffalo or NJ.
