For what he brought here, especially when we have such a lack of physical defensive defencemen with Schenn gone, it should have been a slam dunk to match that offer.

Skill wise he was way undervalued here.  From my eye test, he was one of our best D with recovering the puck and making quick smart accurate passes to forwards. + added bonus of willing to stand up and fight.  Someone on the Sharks pro-scouting staff was smart.

 

Edit....update.  Signed Cole to 3 mill for one year.  Almost the same as Burroughs 3 year deal. Ridiculous.

Why?  he has been very good defensively for a long time.  Hughes aside, he is our second best defender.  1 Year deal is not risk.

But hoping Blueger is for the fourth line. He’s not the answer to the third line center slot.

Ian Cole played 19 mins a game guy last season ..Solid # 4 guy and 1 yr deal fantastic..We are not locking into 3 yr deal..Like signing

I will be very happy if at the end of today our Left side D is Hughes, Soucy and Cole.  That is a pretty good mix, and none of them would have to extend their monutes from what they played last year.
