  1. Ugh, 13 of 14 minutes of UFA day coverage on sportsnet has been dedicated to the Leafs so far.

Nobody will have space for a trade until closer to the trade deadline imo

      I actually suffered withdrawal symptoms.

      Drive-By Body Pierce

I had some anxiety for the first little while for sure... then it seemed too long to be because of a trade, and more likely another specific technical issue.

  3. Does anyone know if the VanCast is still going?  It's been a while since they've last put out a podcast.

  4. I just saw a Basant Motors commercial that featured 2 players, Miller and Garland.  If that's not the kiss of death for their days in the organization, I don't know what is.

  5. Anyone else getting robocalls before 5 am?  I am.  It's bleeping annoying.

You can also contact your provider.  I know Telus provides a free feature called Call Control.  It forces the caller to punch in a number in order for the call to go through.  It's kind of like an "I am not a robot" step for phone calls.  You can also create a list of your friends and family so they can skip that step.

@dazzle It's my land line...yes, I still have one.  I leave my cell in the kitchen when I go to bed, unless there's the threat of the power going out and I need an alarm.

Old school, unplug the phone at night and plug it back in, in the morning.

  6. Random stat:  Cory Schneider is 2nd in all-time games played for New Jersey Devils goalies....948 behind Martin Brodeur.

    1. Wilbur

      Wilbur

No other NHL team has had a goalie that has played 948 games with them (Lundqvist played 887 with NYR is the highest with any one team other than Brodeur).

    2. Rubik

      Rubik

i guess new jersey really was a goalie-graveyard until Brodeur showed up. but then again, they had been in the league for only 10 years by the time Brodeur became their starter and much of it was 80s hockey, so not a huge shock.

    3. NewbieCanuckFan

      NewbieCanuckFan

Schneider was continuing his great play (good chunk of his development was as a Canuck).  Injuries did him in.

  7. Jeff Patersson put a survey out to Canuck fans to collect their opinion on things.  Here's the link if you're interested.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Web_TSN1040HockeyFanSurvey

i think 3 would be best. maybe the cup for great post, the heart for good post and one for not understanding the meaning or maybe for trolls. imo, if you don’t like the post just, don’t pay attention to it. i don’t even know the meaning of all of them. is there a difference between players who use to play here? maybe keep the smiley face.

Because Toronto is in a cap crunch worse than Vancouver, they are going to need to hype young talent.

But to be fair if you look at his numbers in junior this year: 46 games, and 55 goals, 31 assists and 86 points.

Looks like a homerun for a 2nd round pick. (Burke would not like the fact he's 5'9" and 162 lbs. )

Maybe Toronto will trade Nylander and Kerfoot for picks and prospects.

  11. Geez, if you ever need a reminder to live every day with your loved ones as if it was your last, listen to today's WTF with Marc Maron.  RIP Lynn Shelton.

  13. LOL, the Highlights of my places visited for the month of April from Google Maps was Boston Pizza and Willoughby Town Centre.  Woooo!  Exciting month.

  14. Need internet help/advice.

Having connectivity issues with devices.  Here is some history:

    1.  Internet started to crap out just over a year so bought a new router.  Seemed to correct the issues.

    2.  Bought a new laptop a year ago.  First the sound goes haywire then it starts to have connectivity issues.  After about 2 months dealing with Staples/HP they fix the motherboard and that fixes the sound.  Wifi connectivity not so much.  All other devices work reasonably fine.  Brought the laptop to work and it worked fine there.

    3.  Laptop worked okay when it was on the same floor as the router, so buy a splitter to put the router on the main floor.  Laptop connection is marginally better but all other devices are suffering now.  Especially when streaming on smart tv which was never an issue before.

    4.  Now also notice that my wife's phone will not even recognize the wifi signal.

At a loss for what to do.  Is it a laptop issue, a router issue (or both), a strength of internet signal?  Any tips to trouble shoot would be greatly appreciated.

    2. Baer.

      Baer.

I've learned more in this thread than I ever have talking to Shaw. I asked the guy that came to switch in a new router what the difference was between 5 and 2.4

He said they are the same. Without any further elaboration....

I have a TPlink that combines the frequencies onto the same network and switches automatically.  It's a fantastic router.

@King Heffy That's what I was referring to as band steering.  It's a great feature!

  15. Hockey Pool Question:  Pick up Tony DeAngelo (NYR) and drop Shea Theodore (VGK)?  DeAngelo has had the better start but how they go from here only matters.

  16. Hockey Pool advice needed.  Is it worth it to grab James Neal and drop one of Dadonov/Dubois?

  20. I guess it's  that time of year again.

The Canucks are idiots if they win because it ruins their draft position.  But if they lose they immeasurably suck because they're the worst team in the NHL over the last 4 years.

      SabreFan1

I remember myself and a handful of others were hoping he'd fall to the Canucks.  Oh well, OJ should hopefully look good on defence along with Quinn when they both get their chance next year.  The Canucks need a competent defence almost as much as they need consistent goaltending.

    4. Brad Marchand

      Brad Marchand

Dubois probably won't continue to shoot at 19.4% and his team probably won't continue to shoot at 12.14% 5 on 5, but he's still good enough that I wouldn't expect his numbers to massively regress.

Players have kept up a high shooting percentage over a full season before, so who knows?

Drive around the city. You will notice the blacktop and concrete can't even handle normal traffic.

It needs to be resurfaced every so often. Show me a lab result or a stretch of road that will take the pounding of traffic over 1 to 2 years.

The real joke is where they are doing it. Solar wont work in the North with the lack of sun and snow. Trust me, Im from near Prince and study this stuff daily. Wind and Hydro for the north makes more sense but solar should definitely be implemented in the Kelowna area and in the lower mainland.

Solars great, but it depends where one is.
