This has been happening way too long and way too often. For the first 10 minutes they're usually just content to dump and change, instead of pushing aggressively to score the 1st goal from the puck drop. They only wake up and starts playing like they care once fallen behind. No good team plays like that when their playoff hope is on the line with 20 games to go. The defense isn’t getting it done, outside of Hughes and Tanev. Baumgartner is proving to be incapable of doing his job at the NHL level. Too many forwards are mailing it in at a crucial time of year. The team is realistically a year or two away from being legitimate contenders. They have some excellent players, but too few are committed to playing with consistency and cohesion. I have a hard time seeing this team as a playoff team when they blow as hard as they did against a Senators team. Again, they need to grow a collective set of balls. Yes, the team giveaways were pretty bad by everyone. But Demko absolutely had to make the 4th goal a save - and he lets in a soft one.
