And you generally don't like teams because of the players they have. Shinkaruk, with no place else to go, tried the same offensive move three times in the last game, to no avail. Jensen couldn't create anything himself, or finish on a crash and bang drive to the net. Neither will be sticking around for the regular season. If any prospect will make it, it will be Gaunce because of his solid play on both sides of the puck. And doing what is necessary in his role, despite that not being his regular offensive role.

It is a no brainer theses kids will play in utica for at least a season or 2, but Gaunce is the only one with a real shot at making the big club. he has been playing his bag off :D

Myself I never said Jensen was a bust. Kassian has already played a few years in the NHL unlike Jensen, but Kassian has been given minimal chances to succeed (Other than first-line duty for the first 10-15 games last season where he showed promise).

If Kassian does not perform under Torts though you can bet he'll be done. Who takes that spot after? Who knows, could be Jensen.

The Canucks don't have anybody on their roster who is a pure sniper like Shinkaruk and can dangle guys 1-on-1 including the Sedins.

Last time I checked Pat Kane isn't the best player in the d-zone. But he sure as hell makes up for it offensively.

Jensen would benefit from a year in the AHL. I think he needs to learn how to fight harder on the boards, and get used to the tighter space. When he has space to skate, it's beautiful.

He played about 3 quarters of a game with the sedins. You could tell that av told him to play a no risk game. It really limits a player when he can't make mistakes with out getting demoted.

Higgins is supposedly more defensively responsible than Kassian, and with a very young and patch-worked defense filling-in for the regulars,...that matters. Kassian is still a crap-shoot and an adventure. It's about where WD can place his trust.

I like both prospects, but I think Shinkaruk will definitely be a better player than Jensen.
