DeNiro
The musketeers have produced notable NHLers such as Pacioretty, Dekeyser, Klesla, and S.Gagner. The USHL is a good league and has been gaining more and more respect from NHL scouts. Seems like Benning and co are scouting the USHL and college teams very heavily. Wouldn't be a bad move for Brisebois since the team he's on seems pretty bad and he didn't really improve as much as we would have hoped he would this season. Bigturk8
If he gets traded, does it have to be within the Q or can he be moved to the OHL and WHL as well? Edited May 4, 2016 by Bigturk8

I also believe once you step on the ice with a CHL team, you have given up the chance at an NCA scholarship. I think he would have to go to Jr A or USHL to be eligible. That's how it used to be anyway.

Apparently it's regardless of the ELC. From the USHL website: http://www.ushl.com/news_article/show/446473-the-junior-hockey-landscape-what-you-need-to-know In Canada, the three tiers of junior hockey are Major Juniors, Junior A and Junior B/C/D. The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) houses three Major Junior leagues – the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Western Hockey League (WHL). Once a kid plays one game of Major Juniors, their NCAA eligibility will be voided. College hockey will no longer be an option. So when a player turns 20 years old and has aged out of the league (Editor’s Note: Major Juniors will allow three 20-year-olds per team, but no more and no older than that), they have no choice but to hope they can sign a pro hockey contract instead of further developing in an amateur setting such as the NCAA, where they can also continue to work toward their college degree. Really? I thought the USHL was like any league where the Canucks could loan him to them since they own his rights. It would be like if he wanted to go play on a junior team in Europe no? It's apparently strictly amateur and it's so-called NCAA protected - ie they maintain their NCAA eligibility. So his ELC makes him ineligible according to that article. Most, if not all, chl teams provide one year of post secondary tuition for every full season played. Those players are then part of the Canadian college hockey programs, which is very good. Wow. He was traded for a 1st, a 2nd and a D-man who has put up decent numbers (32 points...guillaume had 26) Goes to show how well rounded and valued he is. flickyoursedin
Charlotte finished 17 points higher in the standings last year then Brisebois Acadie Bathurst. So they should be a little bit better.

stonecoldstevebernier
Nice! Good for Brisebois to finally get out of the QMJHL basement. Not that Charlottetown is a top contender, but he also makes them better so maybe he can go a little further into the playoffs this season. wshdrvvn
This is definitely an improvement for him. they have a much better chance of advancing in the playoffs than the Titan did.
