stonecoldstevebernier
Gaudette continued his goal streak and added an assist today vs BU. 6-6-12 in eight games now.

Derp...
The confidence is looking good on Gaudette. He's averaging 5.62 shots per game this year which is insane. 6 goals on 45 shots so far, and his shooting percentage is about 13% Last year he put up 96 shots in 41 games, he's on pace for 230 shots which is 40 more than highest volume shooter from last year. If he can keep his shot volume up we should see Gaudette score 25+ goals this year. It's not uncommon for NCAA players to have high shooting percentages as well 15% and above is pretty normal in the top 10 goal scorers. Kyle Connor scored on 23.6% percent of his shots last year, Boeser was 20.3%. I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn pro after this year as well. 6'1 184 right now apparently.

Popular Post saucypass
Hi guys! So unfortunately I missed the Canucks game vs the Leafs because I was at BU for the BU vs NEU game. Turns out I missed out on a lot of drama, but I've been trying to keep up to speed in the PGT and GDT vs the Leafs. Anyways, ironically I missed the BU NEU matchup at NEU but was able to go to the one on Saturday at BU with some friends that go to school there. I can honestly say that Gaudette was a bright spot on the Husky's even though they were shut out on Saturday. As a whole BU took a whole lotta penalties but the Husky's couldn't find a way to capitalize on them. Gaudette made some great defensive plays and made some really nice plays (mainly nice passes and sometimes an opportune shot) especially near the end when the Husky's were really in trouble. One player I noticed that had a really good game would be the Chicago Blackhawk's 4th round pick, Ryan Shea. In fact, he's been having a really good season so far and I actually had no idea how he was doing stats-wise until I searched it up. He's a defenseman with 4 points in 9 games, really reflects on how well he's been playing on the ice. I really enjoy watching him contributing on both ends of the rink, especially his transitions up the ice. This guy can really play, and it would be so sick to acquire him from the Hawks. A trade for Ryan Shea and Schmaltz hopefully? Man, the Hawks really know how to draft right. Although I'm a Husky fan, I have to say BU's hockey program is REALLY good. I can honestly say they're better than most OHL teams. Watching them play was just unfair. They had a bunch of top NHL prospects like McAvoy and Fabbro, who both had really strong games. Especially McAvoy, who I was really pushing for during the draft, assuming we were able to get another draft pick that is. McAvoy played lights out. He's good defensively, and can really move the puck and patrol the blue line on offense. He's got a great sense and knows when to pass it and when to shoot it. I believe at least 2 of the goals the BU scored wouldn't have happened without him. Made great passes all night whether it was up the ice or across. Fabbro was good but he didn't handle the puck as well as McAvoy did in my opinion. He would break up plays left and right, but tries to get rid of the puck too quickly and sometimes ends up giving the puck up. Jordan Greenway played well, but to me he just seemed like a benefactor from playing on BU's top line. He does all the gritty things well though, making hits, and digging for the puck. Bellows played well as well, but didn't stick out as much as others. Clayton Keller... easily the most dynamic player on BU. If the Canucks are looking for an offensive talent, look no further than Clayton Keller. This guy is a magician with the puck and is incredibly elusive. He really just can't be hit. Once he touches the puck he's buzzing all over the ice creating space you didn't think was there. Even students who haven't had a lot of hockey exposure in the past "oooh-ed and ahhh-ed" at some of the plays he made. Easily my favorite prospect in the NCAA right now... (Outside of Lockwood, Boeser, and Gaudette of course). Then there's Patrick Harper, a prospect I've never even heard of! Drafted in the 5th round by the Predators and is currently a freshman on the Terriers. He plays on the top line with Keller and Greenway, and man. This guy can stickhandle for days. A pretty diminutive forward, but I would be so stoked if we acquired him. I can honestly say if he ends up being a Johnny Hockey-lite in as a small unknown late round pick with hands that just puts up points, I wouldn't be surprised in the least. I really wish more people had the opportunity to watch more NCAA hockey! I might even say I'm starting to like it more than the CHL now... TLDR; Although the Husky's got outplayed on Saturday, Gaudette was one of the better players and definitely showed up in the third period especially. Ryan Shea on the Husky's is a really good player. Boston University was incredibly dominant, names that stuck out were McAvoy, Fabbro, Keller, Harper, Greenway, Bellows. Keller definitely worthy of a top 10 pick and McAvoy could've went top 10 too imo. Anyways, sorry it's such a long post especially when most of it is on other NHL prospects. But if you did read it then I appreciate you taking the time out to do so! I'm hoping I can share more about the NCAA since it doesn't get covered here a lot! SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
"Farm Report" prospect feature on Gaudette starting on Team 1040 radio. Expecting it'll be pretty basic stuff but I'll update if they provide anything noteworthy. EDIT: Actually they've got Adam on for an interview so worth listening. Summary: Mentioned how he's gotten a lot bigger and stronger since last year and more confident. Still a young guy on a team with several upperclassmen (which makes his performance and contributions more impressive IMO). Currently plays 2nd line. Talked about other Canucks prospects in NCAA (Boeser and Lockwood) and how well they're doing. Said he knows Brock pretty well and talks to him from time to time. Didn't bite on questions about the future and joining Canucks. Said the usual stuff about being focused on this season and helping his team win. Not thinking about pro yet. Gaudette Celly
That's the thing -- you never know how they'll physically mature. Gaudette was very slight last year, Jasek has reportedly grown a couple inches, but Subban is still 5'9 and Shinkaruk hasn't really bulked up either. Jankowski is another -- it was only in the past year that he finally put some strength onto his frame.

Ghostsof1915
Any idea on if Gaudette, and Lockwood will go Pro next year? Could you imagine what a shot in the arm adding Boeser, Gaudette, and Lockwood would be?

SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Gaudette sounds like he'd really like to stay with Northeastern long enough to win another major tournament/title (Northeastern was the NCAA Hockey East Champion last season) or even have a run at a national championship (where Boeser and UND eliminated Gaudette and Northeastern last season on their way to the title). And he's talked about this year's Beanpot (Boston area tournament between Boston College, Boston U, Harvard, and Northeastern) being especially important to him. He's a local kid (Braintree is within the greater Boston area) so there's a great deal of motivation for him. But if Northeastern manages to bring home some hardware this year, and with a Gaudette playing a key role in their success, I could definitely see him feeling like he's accomplished enough of his college goals to be ready to sign and take the next step as a professional. If not, he might want to give it another year, which certainly wouldn't hurt his development (although every year he gets closer to that free agency window creates some anxiety from the Canucks perspective). So rushing 20 year olds into the line-up helps us in what way? Not every prospect can come into the league and start producing. Haven't you seen Virtanen? Haven't you seen McCann? Just let them develop.
