Great game.

And not just because I bet EP would get at least 2 points and we would win!!!  :towel:

Marky was great. Edler was good along with Tanev, Guddy, Hutton, and Biega. I love Bulldog's never quit attitude.

Hitchcock was right when he said, whether he believes it or not, that you can't give Petey and Boeser any room. They showed that if they get even a sliver of room they will score and they did twice.

As you guys all said already, Motte and Beagle were warriors. I can't wait until Sutter is back also.

I love this team!!!   :canucks::canucks:

classic Hull & Oates (EP40 & Boeser)....give them an inch, twice, it was in the back of the net twice....Goldy needs some love too...in the offensive zone, he sets them up well.

Hard to argue with EP's logic as McSofty is top 5 in scoring! and that usually means he is a top 5 player. But lets anoint him with sub par performances based on the performances of others!

EP40 is sick. Even his giveaways were probably based on him expecting someone should be able to read a play as good as him and would get the puck. Like his fancy behind the back passes would have worked if he had say a jack Hughes or Patrick Kane there.

Worked for gaudreau today because he has people people who can read his plays properly. That’s why we need to tank and get him someone crazy enough to play with him.

Did hitch whine  HIS team was clutching and grabbing too much and it wasn’t getting called or that mcdiver was flopping around and the mean refs didn’t bite.

This is game proved complaining about the officials after a game works. Refs should have had oil sweaters and sticks.

Solid win win by the much better team that’s only half way through the rebuild.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Team is not going to tank... they are building a winning culture... the only way they will drop in the standings is if they start getting more injuries.

And don't worry about the high drafts... don't forget who will be coming up... Dahlen is showing good signs... he will be a future winger for Petey and Brock.

Motte has been such a good pick up. Some more trade deadline hindsight.

EP had a great game.

He needed a couple of days rest.

Exciting game and great to see the win.

It's getting kind of repetitive, but Marky is the biggest story again. The Oilers actually outplayed the Canucks overall, but the team with the better goalie won (again).. Actually, the Canucks made some great plays in the first period and played a pretty good third period protecting a lead on the road, but Edmonton had a big margin in the second and had a lot of offensive zone time in all three periods.

It isn't often that Motte is one of the headlines but he had an excellent game tonight -- the best game I have seen him play with the Canucks. He is looking like a good acquistion.

And, repetitive again, but EP made two great plays on the two goals he was involved in and looked dangerous almost every time he was on the ice. It is tempting to take him for granted, but his pass to Boeser on the second Canuck goal was a play very few players can make. How did EP even know Boeser was there and how did he put the puck on Boeser's stick? And EP's goal was another super high-skill play.

Edler also had an excellent game against the McDavid line. High minute man again for the Canucks. And credited with 11 hits! That's a full season for some guys.

Would have liked to see more out Leivo and, Gaudette. And, although Virtanen played hard and made some good plays, his timing did not look sharp. And Pouliot always makes me nervous. But you can't have everything.

For the Oilers I am surprised that Puljujarvi does not look better. His 5 pts in 25 game this season is not very impressive. I can remember the debates over which Finnish guy (Laine or Puljujarvi) should go first in the draft. Right now, Virtanen looks better than Puljujarvi, just like Eriksson looks better than Lucic

Anyway, a lot of pieces are falling into place for the Canucks. Now we just need that elusive "top-of-depth-chart" defenceman, so obviously Quinn Hughes will be getting a lot of interest from Canuck fans and from Benning during the World Juniors.

...just to keep Hitch honest...this is a hooking call that is called all the time against the Canucks (stick parallel to body and at the hands)...its a penalty that is not called on a Horvat chance....the zebra had a perfect look and he didn't call it...because the Canucks were up two goals...

Hate to break it to you, but with Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat, and Hughes coming next season, the likelihood of a full on tank happening now is pretty low.
