He doesnt have to fight to provide "toughness". Not defending him as a player...but people that imply that he provided nothing in terms of toughness need to give their head a shake. 1 3 4

SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
This move will look like genius if Pearson rebounds here. OTOH, he could end up being the next guy we loan to the Marlies.

Sorry guys, but the illusion of toughness isn't the same thing as actually acting tough. You think if he brought toughness he'd be traded? no. He wasn't as advertised. It was too bad. Down by the River
Gudbranson was definitely tough and boy did guys like Tkachuk stay quiet when he was on the ice. That said, I just don't think other teams have enough guys running around taking shots at others to warrant the need to spend 4mil on a guy. Marner gets by. Keller gets by. Kucherov gets by. I don't think these teams have a true enforcer either. I think that if the Canucks do find the need to replace Guddy's toughness, they can find it with a guy making < 4 million.

Speaks a lot about guddy when people are sad we are losing toughness and not anything else about his game. He said himself his play was not good here. There’s nothing for us to miss. So we gotta play up the one thing he was half decent at while here.
