Beary Sweet
Not a bad deal for the boys. Get a solid forward in Pearson who is a proven good forward in the West and played for the Kings. Best of luck to Guddy as he was having a up and down year.
Popular Post Smashian Kassian
Great job by Benning to move Gudbranson. Never thought it would happen. Pearson hasnt been very good this year but maybe he turns it around. Even if he doesnt im happy they moved Guddy. Ultimately this trade confirms the Gudbranson trade in '16 was a mistake. But im glad Benning was able to recognize it hasnt worked & finally move on. 2

I'm actually quite happy with this team. *Edit: Additionally, with Pearson coming back I do like this trade. It just hurts to see Hutton-Stetch, and then pure fringe players on the backend. peaches5
Gudbranson's cap hit was looking worse and worse. I can't believe we got a decent return for him. 1

Popular Post BananaMash
With this trade, I hope Sautner stays up. Kid has some actual jam and meanness to his game. He looked more aggressive than Gudbranson out there. He's not as big, but I like what he brings to the roster. Pearson should be interesting. If he meshes with someone in our top six, he'll be a good pickup. Nothing spectacular, but he's a good complimentary player who can be good in the top six with the right chemistry like he had in LA during his best years. 3
flickyoursedin
The only good thing is it gives us more cap space to pursue free agents. Pearson is exactly what we have too much of. We gotta be trading guys like Granlund so we don’t just lose them for nothing at years end. 1
Popular Post Whorvat
We don't have a single player able to step up against the Getzlaf's anymore. Hope Canuck nation is as happy about this as they seem to be. I surely am not. 3

Cap space and a right side spot for Myers or EK I hope.
Popular Post King Heffy
Not super stoked about the team getting softer and doubt Pearson is in our plans going forward. Plus side is it likely means Benning liked what he saw from Sautner and opened up a spot for him. Guddy's toughness will be missed more than many think. 3

He makes pretty much peanuts on an expiring contract. Plus we didn't give up much of anything for him. He couldn't fit in the doghouse anyhow as Schaller took a BIG dump in it.
