-Vintage Canuck-
Looking at the Oilers schedule, that would be about 10 games — significant blow.
Kragar
https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/cult-of-hockey/oilers-general-manager-ken-holland-says-connor-mcdavid-to-miss-2-3-weeks-with-quad-injury Quote Edmonton Oilers General Manager Ken Holland says Connor McDavid will be out 2-3 weeks with a quad injury. McDavid had an MRI yesterday which revealed the extent of the injury. He will return to Toronto in order to rehab the leg. McDavid went into the end boards last game after incidental contacts with the skates of an opposing player. 97 played the rest of the game but it was apparent he was in some discomfort. But the G.M. says playing while injured last game was never putting him in jeopardy. Holland expects McDavid will then be back with the club next Monday. That doesn’t necessarily mean he will be ready to play by then. In fact, given the timeline Holland has laid out, that seems unlikely. Holland says this is totally unrelated to the left leg injury from last Spring. No surgery required.

Tortorella's Rant
All these teams on the cusp of a playoff spot are licking their chops now; the Coilers are in big trouble.
Coconuts
Bad time to lose him, but they don't have my sympathies. We've got a chance to pull away, but we've gotta get back to winning consistently to do that.
Drakrami
Draisaitl is gonna carry. That guy is a beast this season.
Bell
Good for teams in the west and horrible for fans that already shelled out huge money to see the league"s best player when Edmonton rolls thru town.

DawnDucky
Hate to see stars injured, especially when they're lighting it up. Although, it doesn't seem like a significant injury. Before Crosby went down in the 2010 - 2011 season he was probably playing some of the most insane offensive hockey of his career.

Like how Malkin seems to find another level when Crosby is out. I'd argue that Draisaitl has been more impressive this year than McDavid (from the little I've seen them play).
DownUndaCanuck
Never good to see a star injured but I bet Draisaitl is going to go all Malkin and lift this team. 10 games, chances are no McDavid will cost them a couple extra losses in those games.
