I think we know Marky doesn't do well in b2b's tho. Just my 2 cents but I'd like to see Demko on Sunday.

I feel if we plan to go on a long run, you need guys fresh, including Marky.  Hasn't had a break since this all started.  Gotta have two functioning goalies ready to go and that includes giving Demko a start.  Like you said, Sunday most ideal start in a b2b.

For those on sports radio and perhaps on this board mentioning a potential Demko start in one of these games;

hell no!

Marky is our MVP all season and has been great all playoffs (love saying playoffs by the way, been too long).

This is no time to provide “experience”. Every game is a do or die and things can swing on you before you know it.

Marky needs to play each and every game, including every back to back (unless he gets injured and requires the rest of course).

I'm not sure you can determine that ahead of time.

Ie the last game he faced a whole lot of shot attempts (the vast majority may have been low grade with limited grade A chances, but) - he was probably nevertheless exhausted.

Would he have recovered well enough to go the next night?   Maybe - but 4 x in 5 nights?   I imagine there might be a game in there where it could be closer to a "game day decision".

And there's no bigger Markstrom homer on these boards than me - I've loved him since the day he arrived, and wanted him when he was a Panther - but if he needed a rest, I think the team really could not be in better backup hands than Demko.  He looked good in those wee 8 minutes he's played - but he's big, he's calm, he's probably confident beyond his years, and he's had a great fighter as a starter to play behind - so if they have to go to Demko for a game, I'd feel really confident in him - and it might cue the team to tighten it up that much more.

I'm down with that...unless of course Markie is lights out tonight. In which case, he plays again tomorrow.

Amazing O’Rourke is still reffing after that horrendous game 2 vs St. Louis.

Been in the heads of the coaches and goaltenders of every team they've faced.

Stalock - not a great series for Minnesota, Dubnyk lurking.... Stalock wound up sub .900.

Binningdone - got owned - had to go to Allen - still not confident enough - made the mistake of going back to Binningdone.

And now - in the head of DeBoer - and Lehner - and to add to it - Fleury's agent undermining the coach and team by going public with his protests over DeBoer's decisions.
I think they probably realize that the team they shutout - they're unlikely to see that team again - and should probably prepare to face the team that beat Lehner 5x on 27 shots.

Fleury = .905 in the regular season and .886 in the playoffs - if they can put a crack in him if he gets a starts - imo that swings an advantage to the Canucks in the critical back end.

DeBoer isn't exactly dealing in a position of strength right now imo.

And Rooney is right there alongside Kelly Sutherland imo - but hasn't yet been particularly horrible these playoffs - so here's hoping we get a professional performance out of them tonight - without the usually, highly predictable game management.

Focus on winning game 3 in regulation.

How they perform will make the decisions for game 4 a bit easier. I think this series will go 6 or 7.  You can't run your best players to exhaustion and expect to win.  Injuries will happen too. That's expected. Myers will be very helpful. No need to rush him back if he is not 100%.

I was so thinking that watching his shot and highlight reel goals from his rookie season. He is back!!!!!!!! Getting better every series. Expect him to blow a slap shot by Vegas soon.

One of those that go in off the post about 1/4” below the crossbar at 100mph. I wish he would use that more again despite the pressure.

Lol ride markstrom till he's burned out? He's been playing every 2nd night for 1 month straight with a couple of back to back and every game he's been peppered with 30-40 shots 70+ shot attempts.. i rather play a demko somewhere in there even if he ends up losing then risk markstrom burned out and getting a season ending injury.

Marky's got low mileage on him, he can handle it

People clamering for Myers to be back I have this to say...when he does get back and he starts coughing up the puck and taking stupid penalties are you still going to be happy to have him in the line up...I am A Okay with him being out, was a bad signing from the get go to tie up 6m in him for 5 years.

GO Canucks, wish we would see Demko, but we won't! Give Markstrom and his agent 110% leverage in contract negotiations.

Hope Boeser gets a goal or two!
