Trump adamantly argued that the coronavirus would not come back in the fall with the same virulence that has this spring – saying that at most it would be “the embers” of the virus the country will have to deal with when the next flu season begins.

Translation: Get your shovel and start digging your underground shelters now.

John Oliver nailed it on Faux News on Sunday.....

....while noting that their employees are engaging in social distancing and WFH when possible, while still downplaying the severity of the Pandemic and supporting Trump's misinformation, he said: "They don't actually believe what they are saying. They're doing it for money"....

That is exactly right. They know what their viewers want to see and hear and they give it to them, whether it is true or not.

The thickness of the non-existing brain matter in this unfortunate soul cannot be under-estimated.

It hasn't gone well for Goodman since that interview (and another by Katy Tur of MSNBC):

Not long after the interview, Goodman was trending on social media, as many viewers dissected her performance.

“Anderson Cooper may have just ended her career,” tweeted professional poker player Daniel Negreanu. “I couldn’t imagine a public official coming off worse in an interview. There should be a mercy rule.”

CMO will have to approve, but Alberta/Kenney's been in talks with Bettman (yesterday) and speculation is that they're looking at playing games there.  Was just on the news.

So NHL players will be exempt on air traffic? Alberta has double the Covid cases that BC has, why would they be looking to play there? Saskatchewan and Manitoba have under 600 cases combined. Makes sense to play games there.

If what happens in Vegas would stay in Vegas, all would be fine.  But that won't be the case.

wouldn't be the first time someone brought home something unexpected from Vegas I bet.

I think they might end up playing all the games in the US, if they're going to need private health insurance to cover a potential outbreak among teams.

Saskatoon certainly makes sense. The arena there is actually out of town :picard:  but its perfect for this scenario.

It was on Global news...they suggested because of the new arena and practice facility, close proximity to hotels, etc.

Van makes more sense to me but that's what they reported this morning.

They are looking to return to NHL cities where everything is already set up to play and broadcast NHL games.  They don't think it's realistic to play in remote locations.  They've apparently already eliminated 2/3rds of NHL cities from consideration.  Edmonton must still be on their list.

This is why I just sit back and shake my head at people who vote, the voting process, and politics in general. What a complete farce, such a broken down, laughable joke. :sadno:

Unfortunately, it's the "why should I bother voting" attitude that led to the election of Trump.

Dyed in the wool Republicans always vote and they always vote red.

The disaffected Bernie Bros and apathetic undecideds staying home are what cost Hillary the election in 2016.

Hey hey, she's a survivor.  She was the first person in N. America to get it in January - let's cut her some slack.  I am sure it's very hard to conduct an interview when you're rudely getting interrupted by the interviewers breathing - I mean who breathes when they're on tv?   Totally unprofessional.
