I agree. Anyone who had a great shot and was good at scoring, knows... you'd rather aim for the corners and miss than shoot it directly at the goalie. The only other plausible reasons would be to try to create a rebound from shooting into the pads. Or when there's a crowd in front of the net - get the puck on goal for a possible deflection.

I wish EP would let it rip as often as Hughes does.

 

Hughes shooting percentage up there is gonna be 4 or 5%.

 

EP on the other hand will be 10-15-20 when he's rolling.

 

Work the puck more with the intent to feed EP - and let it rip EP (cut down the fakes by multiples).
