Popular Post sockeye
That's sad. I remember seeing him play. He was a very good Canuck and I was sorry when we traded him to Boston. Not a big guy but he had a great shot and he really hustled. Rest in Peace Bobby. Popular Post Rick Blight
Was a very honest 2 way player and tough as nails. Still have fond memories of his 7 goals in two games....still a Canucks record I believe. Condolences to his family and friends. RIP Bobby.... 6
Gurn
A leading player on the all name team, can't recall any complaints about the guy, as a player or person. rip. 2 1
YEGCanuck
My memory of Schmautz may seem a bit odd but I noticed something about the way he typically reacted to a scrum on the ice. Bobby would stand with his back to his teamate and face the aggressor and just look through them to de-escalate the situation. He didn't challenge the opposition yet he was fearless and knew how to take care of himself. 2

Thanks for the words Joe. Glad we have folks like you and several others on this forum to talk about an era i wasn't very aware of (just a little too young). It's important that guys like you set us straight. RIP. 3

zimmy
Loved those 70/71 O-Pee-Chee cards!!!! It makes no sense at all but those pink backgrounds are so appealing somehow. Reminds me of the colour and smell of that thin slab of powdered gum inside. As kids, once we stated collecting ourselves a decade later, we missed the pop art effect that can be seen on these early editions! And we all loved it when Schmautzie returned for his swan song in 1981!
Popular Post -DLC-
When I was a child my Aunt lived a few houses away from him in Burnaby and we were allowed to go jump on his trampoline. I was too young to care about him being a hockey player....I just knew he was a nice man. May he RIP.....I feel an extra sense of sadness in this passing. 5 2

Westcoasting
First time I was really disappointed with hockey was with the Canucks trading Schmautz away to the bruins. First player I was really a fan of RIP Bobby and thanks for the memories of a lifetime
