OEL - Myers

Hughes - Poolman

Rathbone - Juulsen

Schenn, Hunt

I think Juulsen needs some time in Abby to prove (a) he is over his multiple concussion issues and (b) to show that he is ready for NHL again.
So don't expect Juulsen as a prospect will be ready anytime in the short term for the big club. This doesn't means that he won't have potential down the road.

Semi-serious question;

Anyway we can get Tryamkin to come back?  Break his KHL contract?  Move Motte for a pick which would give us about 4.225 million in cap space (Hamonic + Motte), and then try and convince Tryamkin to come here?

Dahli?

Myers plus a pick for Doughty with 2-3M retained per year.

LA gets a decent defenceman and an another pick as they are still rebuilding.

Canucks get a defencemen that is still top tier while being in a win now mode.

They are out of their rebuild and are aiming for a playoff spot.  They traded picks to add Arvidsson.

No idea.

Maybe Covid reasons like Hamonic? Maybe he was hoping a specific team or two team would give him an offer and he's been rebuffing other offers? Could be a litany of reasons.

Very True ok I see your point

But a team like that shouldn’t beat a team like ours, is still in effect.

Boy this is a tough situation.

I don't want to comment on Hamonic and his situation.

What do you to replace the guy who was supposed to line up with Hughes as the top defensive pairing?

Right now, the most immediate thing you can do is to play Poolman or Schenn up the line up, which doesn't usually bode well. Did Poolman play top line minutes in Winnipeg? Because if he didn't, then this might be asking too much of the man to do. Schenn definitely too much. If he's playing alongside Hughes as a top pairing, we are in trouble, even on this 6 game road trip to start the season.

Kind of nervous for tomorrow's season opener against the Oilers. The backend is so thin on depth. If we lose anyone of the players we currently have, our backend, which doesn't feel very strong, will get even weaker yet.

Curious, really curious, to see Brad Shaw's "effect" on the defensive side for this team. He was brought in for that, no?

Tryamkin is never coming back to Vancouver. He signed a 2 year deal just so he could walk right to UFA status. Benning already burnt that bridge.

Based on what I have seen so far vs Shaw’s history everywhere he has been, Green was blowing smoke about accepting any input from him. The team is playing pretty much the same style and systems they did last year. Any effect of Shaw being here has been impossible to see. Too bad too because he is the best non goalie coach on our entire staff, Green included.

I like Burroughs with Rathbone.  He balances out Bones more aggressive offence, being more of a stay a home efficient defender.  He also almost scored last game by going to the net when the opportunity was there.  Scored in the preseason. Has a decent shot from the point.

At some point it may catch up to him, we may find out he just can't sustain his steady play, but until that happens, why fix something that ain't broke? Especially if it means to give up more value, either draft picks or prospects or even useful players on the team.

see if you can trick chris tanev into walking into the wrong dressing room and then whack him over the head.

Cant believe we didnt sign him. People here keep whining about his injuries but he has been injury free for more than a couple of seasons now. At 4 million dollars, he was a bargain for one of the best defensive D that provided Hughes with his best career year.
