lol demko won't save them this team scored 6 goals in the last 7 games against the devils.. they ain't magically popping 4+

What does that have to do with this team?

Completely different teams. This team has been averaging 4 goals a game.

They can easily claw back in this if their goalie can make saves.

Myers on for all three?

Two beauty passes by OEL and Myers. Eliminate those passes and what's the score?

Indeed. Score if the D actually played simple and smart? Probably 1-0 NJ based on flow of play and ‘the game’.

Canucks have made 5-6 bad mistakes in the D zone so far, NJ has made 1, maybe one and a half. We got scored on. They didn’t.

It wasn't so much about the goals as the fighting the puck. He looks totally off balance and struggling to follow the play.  Demko is a hard act to follow but we see what our starts  ouls have been if demko hadn't made so many unbelievable saves early in games.

It could also be all about the team’s trust or compete-level in front of him due to that trust or lack there of.

Even the newness of Martin had forced them to be defensively aware & more responsible. Their compete level also had some extra motivation.

Bring in Martin & move along Halak - a season’s worth of losses don’t lie.

I will highlight that my ‘tepid’ defense of Halak is based on two factors:

1) as a recent pickup of the goalie position in my adult age, goalie is ####ing hard.

2) when your defence is vacationing on a beach somewhere instead of playing D, it’s really, really ####ing hard to play goal.

i’d argue Halak is ‘average’, but Demko is ‘hart worthy’. So the averageness shows when Demko isn’t in net… because the rest of the team is ‘somewhere else’ in the D zone half the time.

Yup, Demko hides the warts. Not sure why Halak gets all the hate that the team in front of him is garbage defensively.

NMC and this is not Halaks fault. Team hangs him out to dry yet again. Embarrassing effort by everyone in front of him. Bruce should be ripping them a new one right now.

I am sorry but you need an occasional god damn save, 8 goals on what like 20 shots? It's not excusable an almost 500 sv% ain't good enough

He's deeep inside his crease, pass came right across he's gotta get his paddle on that and knock it away.

And man, Petey being saddled beside Chaisson and a struggling rookie Hoglander is sad to see.

Yeah why can't Podz and Petey stay together?  It's clear they have tons of chemistry.

When you look at the stats sheet sure. When you watch what happened defensively, this team is a god damn joke most games.
