Good chance, the champ will be another FLA team cause both teams have talent, depth and goaltending.

Canucks have no, depth due to the past regimes cap mismanagements, which cost the Canucks a lot of futures & cap space.  Anyways, tough loss vs the Redwings and the playoff dream is almost over - time to sell, on any player outside of: EP, QH, Demko and anyone under 25.

I'm hoping he goes to Florida, it'd spur teams like Colorado and the Rangers to maybe consider us a bit more heavily.

Adrian Dater who falsely reported that Giroux had given Fletcher Colorado, St Louis and Minnesota as the teams he would consider.  That was shot down in a hurry - Giroux had never even spoken to Fletcher at the time.  Now Florida emerges as a favourite.

Tippett, Samoskevich and a pick is a pretty solid return for Philly. Tippett is already NHL ready and Samo is definitely a bluechip. Getting two right handed forwards for rh C is a big boost for their youth. If the pick is a 1st that's a very solid haul.

I'm not at all on the JT Miller-trade train now (I think they should keep him), but if that's the cost for rental Giroux ends up being, then a signed JT Miller is actually worth something in the realm of Schneider (similar value to Tippett), Othmann (similar value to Samo), a 1st (what PHI is maybe getting) + a 2nd or 3rd or Kravtsov (for him being signed) or Byram (Tippett), Barron (Samo), a 1st 2023 and a 3rd this year.

Just saying, if you're a new GM trying to make a mark on his team that's gotta be a very tough decision. Glad I'm not making it

Have to think when Claude G gets moved ... that it leaves Miller as the remaining best trade chip.    Wonder if we'd take the same deal with Florida if COL swoops in - or what COL would be willing to give up for Miller.   Been saying for months now COL is a good match because of their Kadri situation.   Plus we all know how Kadri likes to get suspended in the post season lol.   It would help them a lot down the middle - and fix their next year issue.    To me COL always made the most sense for COL (Miller), but could see Allvin not wanting him landing in our own conference too.     Byram for Miller would be tough not to take.   In this case we could move QHs or Byram to the right side (they've both played both sides)...or just have three lines with top four talent on them which is exactly why our D was so good during the peak Sedin era.    Yes concussions.   COL can't afford all their guys for long...this year and next year is their cup window cap wise.

I remember those early 2000 NYR Jagr teams ... they were just ridiculously loaded, all-star teams really.    Actually at times matched Detroit's 2002 arms race player for player really.    Lindros, Jagr, Bure, Fluery, Nedved, Leetch, Holik eventually Shanny etc etc etc ... seemed like whenever a primo guy in his late 20's early 30's came available they all went to New York for a time at least.   It never worked though.   Florida for sure is that team right now the moment CG is moved or maybe anyways.    COL ... well they've got a great team, as does Tampa...Vegas is playing too by hiding Stone and activating Eichel, pretty loaded team as well.    Should make for some exciting playoffs.    Vancouver is a fringe playoff team this year, next year with the same guys you'd have to think we'd also become a regular playoff team for a spell if we keep Miller and trade Brock...not sure it's enough to play with the big boys though, or if Miller should be the chip with or without Brock as well.    Long game it likely is the right move but don't think the fans have the patience for a re-set on the rebuild either.  Not sure the owners do either.
