When Dermott was with the Leafs he was a piece of Monkey crap. He's ours now, so we can cheer for him to do well. I see a 205 pound, 6' tall hockey body. Hamonic was overpaid and craperolla. So glad that guy is gone. 1

The people saying it is saving $1.5 million are using some spin. It wasn’t one move for Hamonic and Dermott. We had saved $3 million already, so no reason to do the 2nd half of that. Yeah 100% on this take. We should have traded Hams and then told the Laffs to suck it.

Won't take a lot to help a PK that is 32nd in the league. A small improvement would do wonders for this team's ability to win games.
24K PureCool
So Hamonic for Dermott+1.5 mil cap space. Seems like a tidy piece of business. 2
BertaNuck
Would rather have kept the cap space to sign something of significance during free agency 1

DeNiro
One Travis out one Travis in! That’s great Travis management by Allvin! Not really a fan of the player but Hamonic for Dermott essentially is good value. Hes a Canuck now so here’s hoping he can thrive with a new coach and new opportunity. Im just happy with any sort of D core shakeup really, it’s obvious that’s our weakness. Edited March 20, 2022 by DeNiro

DownUndaCanuck
Hamonic did well for us but this is a great trade, Dermott has some potential and you never know, he may gel with Hughes really well and become a top 4 defenceman. Most importantly, we save 1.5M which we could use to keep Motte. Smart lateral moves.

Hamonic has proven himself to be capable of playing in the NHL. Dermott has not. I love how some people try to bend these silly little numbers into something like defensive ability. What an over-reach. To anyone that watches hockey Hamonic is clearly miles better as a defender. Just when I was liking Allvin he has blown it already. This freaking clown is signed for another year too. Good grief JR. Does anyone know if we can still get JB back? 1 4
