King Heffy just had a heart attack to go along with his stroke.

Also, that 3rd round pick has gotten around more than the Kardashian sisters.

It’s the Jets 3rd that’s getting passed around now. Our 3rd has cleaned up it’s act and settled down, at least I hope.

I like the trade. We basically saved 1.5M off the Cap and replaced the position with a similar level skill player.

He shoots left though.

I dunno seems like a strange move when Hughes and OEL are already there

The Hamonic trade was amazing, the definition of an anti-Benning trade.

This Dermott trade was more like a flashback to the Benning era.

Put them together, and it's still a nice trade considering we get younger, cap space, and arguably the better player (and definitely more reliable).

Willing to give the new management team the benefit of the doubt here until we see more.

Why? It's not like he's good enough to take their top-4 spot.

And if he somehow becomes that good, then great for us lol.

He's got great defensive analytics, and is a significant improvement over Hunt on the left side in his own zone. He can skate backwards really well, and doesn't get walked very often.

Hamonic has bad analytics, hasn't been particularly useful to us on the PK, was a terrible match for Hughes, and Myers has been better with OEL than Hamonic. Plus Hamonic missed most of the season with us, and makes double of Dermott's salary.

Dermott is also young enough to have potential to keep getting better, Hamonic on the other hand, is on the decline.

It's not a gamechanging move, but it improves our bottom pair, and frees up some money to upgrade elsewhere too.

I don't care how bad his analytics are when he's a terrible hockey player.  Brad Hunt should not be used as a benchmark.
