It’ll almost certainly be a quick look, since Rathbone is just here covering for Hughes (illness). IIRC, emergency recalls can only stay up for the length of the “emergency.” Emergency conditions exist when, due to incapacitating injury or illness, an NHL team goes under their roster minimums (12F 6D 2G). As soon as Hughes is over his stomach bug and able to play, the CBA requires the “prompt return” (to the AHL) of the emergency recall player. Rabbit
Rathbone is important for Abby. However, Abby is already qualify for payoff, and the payoff is not yet started. It will be okay to call him up for emergency.

Well aware that they have already qualified but would really like to see them overtake Bakersfield and get home ice advantage. 1st round is best of three and team higher in the rankings gets all 3 games on home ice. DownUndaCanuck
Would like to see him paired with Myers or Dermott. If he clicks with Dermott then that's a brilliant bottom pairing unit to start next season. PPG in the AHL will surely translate now.
-AJ-
His offense has been insane in Abbotsford. Really hoping Quinn can show him what decent defense at the NHL looks like for a small defenseman.

In any event, if the Canucks were looking to showcase Rathbone, then I would prefer that they did it over most/all of a full NHL season. regards, G. Good to get him around the team for his actual recall later in the season. The fact that it’s under emergency conditions means he has to be sent right back down if Hughes is good to go. Of course 'their plans' could be to move him as part of a deal in the offseason.

Locke Lamora
Once Jack gets established here folks are gonna be surprised at the impact of having a D man who can absolutely BOMB IT from the point. OEL and Hughes can’t break a pane of glass with their shots. Hope he shows well in the games he gets.

It's not like he got put on the roster when he was 18.
PlanB
1 hour ago, lmm said: because rushing our youth works so well This qualifies as an 'emergency' callup situation. Jack has quietly had a great season - this is recognition of that. This has nothing whatsoever to do with 'rushing our youth' - that's a false narrative that doesn't apply here. Likely Burroughs and Hunt are in first and Rathbone doesn't play. Not that I am good with that.. Every nux fan would like to see Jack get another look this year after 9 games in the Green debacle. Let's see what he can bring right? Also wanted to say Dickinson and Poolman both had lousy games their first games back from long layoffs. Burroughs has been off for a long time. Rathbone has been playing well every game for the last couple weeks in Abby. Another reason to put him in.
