HomeBrew
Best player on the team. 7x8. Smart. Puts a ceiling for future contracts. I like it. 1 1 1

This team is a D rework away from being a legit contender Calling a Bo extension of 8 years, 6.5 million per now. No way they trade their 2nd/3rd line center I'm happy for the rest of the team too. Miller is a heart and soul guy for this team. I think for guys like our captain Bo, it shows him that management wants to win by re-signing Miller with that bolstered FWD group. It should be encouraging for him too. 2
Locke Lamora
Lol, JT held to his guns whereas Rutherford and his assistant buckled and abandoned their principles. I’m happy JT is back, but not at any - particularly this - cost and term. Hope it turns out to be our path to a Cup. Now we just have to wait and see how JT ages as a player.

I’d say they got fair value relative to other contracts signed this summer. 4

It'll require moving a F. But certainly not an impossible situation. Edited September 3, 2022 by JM_

They both "buckled" by +/- $8m from what their positions reportedly were/should have been. I figured that +/-$15m spread was a bridge too far. Clearly I was wrong. But make no mistake, this is definitely longer and more money than I'd have preferred AND far less than he'd get on the open market. 1 2

Starting your post with 'Lol' is something I will never understand. It reeks of impulsivity and a lack of being able to see the forest for the trees. We signed a good one. 8m is a nice number, cap expected to rise by around 9m by the time his deal expires. How does it feel to be so contrarian?

Next year… Ferland contract will be gone (but they using up LTIR anyways). Buyout will be gone (that’s $2.4M). Cap supposed to go up another $1m or so. So say about $3.5M of extra cap space. Thinking they will try to trade a winger to get that elusive RHD or just free up cap space.

Compared to other contracts like Gaudreau and Huberdeau, this looks like a solid deal. As of today: This contract reflects more than Miller just wanting to get paid. It appears to me that he accepted lower dollars so that the club would have money to spend on making the team better. It is a flat out hometown discount, and good for Allvin and company for negotiating and good for Miller and his family in accepting a fair offer..
