There was one of two ways this would go: we'd find a deal for him in a trade, hopefully getting good to better than good value, or we'd re-sign him to a longer term deal. Cap hit is reasonable, and no one is suggesting he'll play at this level for the duration, but the question now is if the window is big enough before he drops off, and if we can move his deal in the latter stages.

I had made mention of that weeks ago. It made more sense. Its looking like a possibility now.

7 years at $8 million, I honestly don't think we could have gotten a better deal then that, Good job, by PA and Miller as well.

Zabanejad got .5 mill more and an extra year and he is the same age.

Obviously he isn't going to be a great player in his final 2 seasons but that's how these deals work.
