Food for thought....

The owner of the Phoenix Suns of the NBA was found by an independent investigation to have behaved quite badly and is now selling the team after being forced/pressured to do so.

These allegations (and they are just that at this point) are way worse than what that guy did.

Ballsillie and Ryan Reynolds to buy Canucks

There's way too many people in the twittersphere passing judgement prematurely.

Personally, I don't know anything about the personal facts, case circumstances, and character of any of the family people on either side of this unfortunate situation - and this is probably true for many CDC members too. It's probably best to let the British Columbia legal "due process" take its course with judges in the courts before anybody jumps to any conclusion one way or the other about the integrity or character of people in the family.  It's too premature and prejudiced until such time that all evidence is heard on both sides and the veracity of the claims on both sides can be evaluated.  Also worth noting is that in the eyes of the law, people are presumed innocent until proven guilty.  Trial in the court of public opinion in the social media is not the way forward here. Allow things to proceed before we jump to conclusions.

Having said that, this case is an obvious serious concern.

Child support for 20 year olds. Is that a thing?

Paying until they are done school… totally normal.

There is no valid reason for him to stop child support payments.  He could have arranged for a neutral third party to verify that they are attending school if that was his actual issue…

He is withholding the payments until he or his lawyers are told directly.

So she is in court suing for those legally required payments.  It is pretty certain she isn’t lying about them going to school as he claims because she wouldn’t testify to it in court as it is too easy to verify and put her in jail for lying.

Divorce, kids, one spouse was significantly richer than the other, what can go wrong?

What did that guy do? Obviously bad enough. But no real details. AQ disciplined his kids. Whoopy ding.

"

The children described abuse and inappropriate conduct by their dad, including alleged incidents of physical and psychological abuse, court heard.

In one incident, Aquilini allegedly beat one of his sleeping children and continued the beating after the child woke up.

One of his kids claimed to have seen him throw a five-year-old child across a room. A third allegation had him punching a child in the stomach, causing the child to cry.'

While these are, at this point,  allegations, it doesn't look like discipline to me.

Well the law doesn’t agree with you…. So the rest of us have to live in objective reality.

Parents are responsible for sharing expenses while the kids attend university.  University loans are even limited due to parental income.

Yeah, calling that discipline is a joke. If true.

Money grab.

She was not happy with the divorce settlement and is seeking continued child support till the kids each turn 25. Not sexual abuse.  Allegation is physical and psychological abuse which can be levied against any man forcing him to defend himself without evidence.

Money grab.

Not surprising. I use to work very closely on day to day business with Luigi. Luigi is a very stern individual who can get out of hand, even as an older gentleman. I would not be surprised if this was a generational qualities passed down.

Francesco is not the owner but simply the head. Luigi is the owner, another member of the family or someone else can be appointed it it gets that bad. The team is to valuable as a write off and profit for not only this business but others as well.

Still too early for judgement on either side tbh.
