[Report] Ducks not bringing back head coach Dallas Eakins

At least Desjardins never got another coaching gig, as did Green. Eakins seems to somehow keep ruining franchises. Just watch, the Ducks will go out and get a good coach (umm...Bruce??) add Fantilli or Bedard and be a playoff contender next year in a heart-beat.

How this guy keeps getting head coach gigs is beyond me... he has stunk everywhere he's gone.

Has he stunk or are the teams he coaches garbage? Not like he had a lot to work with in Anaheim or Edmonton.

They fired him the year before Edmonton drafts McDavid.  Now they fire him the year Anaheim drafts Bedard.  Crazy.  He did his job in both cases to set up these teams for success by tanking for TWO generational talents...

Now we know who to hire when the next generational talent comes along

Got their top 3 pick and are kicking him to the curb.  Expect to see a big name hired immediately after the draft like Quenneville, Vigneault or Babcock.  Barring that maybe someone like Gronberg or Nelson.

Whatever the casde, the ducks will draft one of Bedard, Carlsson or Fantilli and with the kids they already have, the depth they've acquired between age 18 and 22 over the last 4 years plus their 27 picks over the next 3 drafts this team will be gifting some lucky coach an absolute powerhouse

You might not appreciate the somewhat subtle difference, but he wasn't fired - he just isn't being extended, because he's in the final year of his contract (as the tweet mentioned).

It's basically firing him, tomato, tomahto

Sullivan is likely to be in the mix too depending on what Pittsburgh's new management does.  It's going to be a very desirable job.
