  1. I think people will see how good the Sedins were for the Canucks especially how much they did last year for the team.

There are plenty of folks who appreciated em, but I definitely agree. Sometimes you don't appreciate what you had until it's gone, and there are gonna be a good number of those fans. I don't just mean on the ice either, they were just as great off the ice.

They didn't help much last year, or the year before, or the year before. Ahhh, 2011 was fun eh? The Sedins were great players over their careers, and I'm sure everyone knows that already. If they were on this team though, the Canucks would still struggle. I believe their biggest issues are on D and in goal.

"I believe their biggest issues are on D and in goal. "

For the moment, until the prospects develop, we have holes everywhere.  It'll take time.  Will management get that time?  We can only hope.

  2. Even though his production dropped in goals i'm looking at no power play goals. He had over 12 goals for 4 years in a row. If he can get some power play time in-front of the net he might get 20.
  3. What time is the draft?

He Signed or is expected to sign?

    3. Cramarossa

      Cramarossa

@Alflives The rumor is he and the Yotes have verbally agreed to that. He can't actually sign 'til the last year of his current contract kicks in July 1st. Seems like both sides have been pretty committed to getting this deal done asap.

  5. The thing what makes me the most mad is the Canucks have made progress. The sabres have been a bottom shelf team for a bit now. Carolina doesn't even need a top pick. Montreal is just stupid and has no idea how to run a team. Give the Canucks a top 3 pick once and they''ll be set. Honestly done with hockey for a week.

  6. Im honestly so sad that the Sedins are retiring. I was thinking they would be here for next season at least.

  7. Mittelstadt signed with Sabres, Greenway has signed with Wild.

  8. Check out Joseph Labate and Jayson Megna's fortnite stream at https://www.twitch.tv/labate16

  9. Send Brock Boeser there since he is "lucky" according to Matt Murray

It's been a rough season for him, I imagine he'd have had more success if he'd been able to stay healthy. Opens up another spot for guys management wants to get a better look at though.

@Coconuts In theory yes...except JJ is taking that spot next game...:picard:

  11. Leipsic is actually a god.

    1. SabreFan1

      SabreFan1

Those 2 assists really floating your boat that much?

I'm fine with Leipsic for now because it's his rookie season and he still has to learn the game at this level, but I'm not doing cartwheels over his less than 3% shooting percentage.

JB did the best he could at the deadline, but I'm much more excited about the Canucks up and coming prospects than I am about the pieces that JB was able to secure for the team at the TDL.

That said, here's hoping that the new coaching staff can get the best out of the new guys.  And if not, they're at least inexpensive placeholders which will help free up space for any new contracts or FA's.

    2. ItsMillerTime

      ItsMillerTime

Relax im just saying he had a really good game.

    3. SabreFan1

      SabreFan1

You misunderstand, I'm not upset at all.  I've just seen plenty of players start hot with their new teams and quickly cool off.

If you're more pragmatic about new guys, it's less disappointing if they don't live up to your hopes.

As far as Leipsic though, if he can ever translate his juniors and AHL success into the NHL, the trade for him will be looked back at as a genius move.  If not, no big deal.  He's a cheap placeholder for the Canucks prospects who can also be shuttled back and forth into the minors.  So win-win.

I like that JB finally seems to want to get to work on lowering the salary cap hits while waiting for the youngsters to step up.  One bad moment on the ice in Florida and a Luongo cap recapture could come hurtling back at the team.  If that happens and the Canucks can't convince the NHL to waive it, the team will need every extra dollar it can muster.

  12. People need to stop getting pissed about picks. Chances is that if we did get a 4th he wouldn't be better then Motte. We also have Hutton, Tanev, Nilsson, Del Zotto and Gagner who could be traded at the draft for picks.

  13. I was like why the heck is Tobias Lindberg playing on the Golden Knights he was traded. Realized it was Oscar haha.

  14. CDC I need your help! I'm making a "smart plays" video and need clips!

    1. -AJ-

      -AJ-

Look for a video of the ol' Sedin play where they would "ice" the puck, but it was actually a pass off the end boards.

The Gretzky one was kinda a normal play go in and shoot. Looking for plays like Landeskog breaks Sutters stick on the empty net.

  15. Bring back 5th overall pick!

  16. Canucks about to sign Gudbranson to a multi year deal.

^ that's the big unknown...can he stay healthy (though that problem seems to occur with most Canuck D's in past history).

^ It's actually fairly known; he hasn't played a full season with us.The dude's physical play is exactly why this is.

I was going to say Zucker.  He tied twice for the fastest for the Wild.

Marchand broke the Bruins record a couple of years back.

Atkinson last year's playoff - 10 seconds into the game vs Penguins.

Baer scored less than 20 seconds in as a junior on emergency recall vs Coyotes.

    3. -AJ-

      -AJ-

Google tells me that Doug Smail scored five seconds into a game in 1981 for the Jets.

    4. Baer.

      Anybody remember this?

immaturity, years down the road he will regret tossing it.  Yeah you loss, but its something you will take pride in having one day after all is said and done.

  19. Im sorry but how did Nylander get it over Pettersson

    1. -Stammer-

      -Stammer-

my jaw dropped when I saw that, maybe because he is a Buffalo prospect?

    2. Fateless

I don't get how a team snubs its leading goal scorer in a tourney. So stupid.

    3. Green Building

      Green Building

It's a tourney in Buffalo. Not much of a surprise they throw Nylander and the fans a bone. Pettersson is out there kicking ass, who honestly cares about whether he gets a watch or not? It's not of any relevance to me at all.

  20. Elias Pettersson Playermaker or Sniper?

A playmaker up until this year, apparently. From what I hear, the goal scoring he's added this year is a recent development.

I almost liked that goal more than Boesers goal on Price. It will be amazing seeing him and Boeser and/ or Svechkinov in the future (praying lol)

I have really liked Zadina's game really good all around player.

  21. Anyone know that Red Wing player who scored those bank shot goals?

  22. Pettersson is disgusting that goal was insane.

Would have been happy with Mittlestad as well but Pettersson would have been in the discussion for first overall if he was heavier.    There's little doubt in my mind he'll turn out to be the best player in his draft year if he's able to pack on a decent amount of muscle.

    3. ItsMillerTime

      ItsMillerTime

I have a feeling Sabres might sign him at the end of the year maybe. Looking at Jost and Keller do it I think he will too.

    4. SabreFan1

      SabreFan1

I hope not.  I don't think he's NHL ready.  He still needs to grow into a man's body.

Just watching the game I feel like he could make the team next year or 2 years as a 3rd or 4th liner had a really solid game.

Bailey leads the NHL in assists too, if I'm not mistaken. Tavares really can make players around him a heckuva lot better.
