Watching last season's home opening for kicks. Loui's own goal, Bo on the 4th line, Larsen on PP1: so many LOL-worthy moments.

As a black woman I have finally gotten my first sunburn at the ripe old age of 27

I wish that I could sleep peacefully through the night, even just once. This is agonizing.

I think all of us have had a night or two where falling asleep, and then resting properly was difficult. Your situation is NOT NORMAL. Get proper medical treatment.
If after medical advice you still have troubles sleeping, try watching my 1980's hit TV series. I hear from some that helps!
Keep us updated. Proper restful sleep is the healing time for our body.

I feel for you. I've had chronic insomnia for 3.5 years now. I wake up anytime between 2:30 and 5, with 4-430 being the norm, and can't get back to sleep after. Tried all sorts of remedies, drugs, treatments to no avail. I suggest seeing a doctor immediately before it becomes a pattern you can't escape from.

Been done with school for years but kind of thinking of signing up for Russian this fall. Am I crazy?

@Cramarossa I wouldn't worry too much about standing out in a class like that (says one of the whitest guys you'll ever meet ), Russia is actually a very diverse mix of people and cultures.
My grandfather was from a small town just outside of Moscow and my dad and I went there on a trip in 2002, and I did pick up a bit of the language (waaaay better at reading it than speaking it!). Its neat because its got 32 letters and that alone takes some getting used to, but its a great window onto how other people see the world and its such a great place to visit this could open up a very cool future trip for you. Its nothing like US tv portrays it to be, other than the drinking of course. But the country itself is really quite beautiful and full of fun cultural stuff.

Today's Google homepage game is so fun. My high score is 37.

Who here on CDC has done the Grouse grind? How was it?

I used to do it years ago, then had two hip replacements. It's been about 6 years since the surgeries so got my surgeon's ok last year to do it. Went up 5 times, trying to beat an hour and a half, missed it by 2 minutes. Its a good workout, but I found it boring as there isn't anything to see til you get to the top. If you are reasonably fit it's doable, no need to break any time barriers. As others have said, be mindful of people passing you. There are people who time themselves and do multiple ascents in a day.

I miss watching hockey :-(

@Tigs it's funny to me that the CFL is baffled that the millenials aren't buying into the sport. The on field product is so boring now.

Is it weird to own multiple versions of the same player's jersey?
I want to get a white or alternate Reebok jersey, but really don't want to get anyone other than Bo or Hank, whose home jerseys I already own. Should I branch out to other players?

Happy Canada Day, CDC!

I just booked my plane/hotel for my Vancouver trip this season. I'm so excited!! :D

Any other vegetarians on CDC? If so, what cause you to stop (or never start) eating meat?

@SILLY GOOSELet me try and torment/troll the vegetarians in peace!!! For crying out loud, I'm not a crazy hippy, I know plants aren't sentient!
-
@SabreFan1 all good bud bud. Didnt realize it was in jest. Carry on!
-
@SILLY GOOSENo worries, I doubt I would have gotten them anyways, you just ensured that I didn't... lol

When I travel to Van this season would it be better to buy tickets from the org themselves or through resale/secondary market?
-
Today feels like Christmas with the new schedule out! This Cramarossa will be in Van in late December, book it!

It's 32C here. Send help! I'm melting.

I went to a haunted house today in old town San Diego. I saw an orb (glowing ball of light) while I was there!
-
I'm actually excited for the new Adidas jerseys. As if I don't own enough jerseys already.
-
I hate when I genuinely start caring about the success of teams other than my top three. Darn you, Preds!

Student loans: ~$26K down, ~$33K more to go. Not bad for three years worth of payments! But yikes.

@Cramarossa OK that makes sense because would've been unusually high for Canada

What's your favorite thing about CDC? What's your least favorite?
..
.
My favorite is getting a chance to connect with other hockey hooligans who love my team as much as I do. I've only ever met two Canucks fans here in my city (only briefly, we aren't friends) since I started watching the sport.
My least favorite is how negative people can be about the team. Yes, we're rebuilding/retooling/whatever. Yes, on the whole we're terrible and it sucks. But still, there are lots of bright spots (the young guns, the charity work, etc.) that make the organization something worth enjoying.- Show previous comments 17 more

i dislike how on trade proposals, people always trade players they don't think we need for top line players or young guys with great futures from other teams. plus how if their trades don't happen or the way they want, then they paint management with the, don't know what they are doing brush.
i like reading other's opinions, but want them to realize that their opinions are just that.

I gag every time I see the camera zoom in on Messier in that new cup finals commercial.

do it on business all the time. Some tips: eat at the bar in a restaurant, you don't feel like the only person at a table that way and the bartenders are usually nice. If you like museums its great there's no expectation to be with anyone. Shopping too. I also really like short guided tours like walking or foodie tours, its usually 1/2 singles.
