Tonight, we party like its November 2008. #you'reFIRED

There's going to be a lot to fix.
I think first thing that needs to be done.
- Mandatory that all Presidential candidates divest themselves of business interests.
- Mandatroy that a criminal/ and tax audit check is done.
- Limit powers of executive orders.
I think that goes in Canada with orders in council.
Maximum 6th months. If it wants to be made permanent it has to be approved by a
majority vote in the House.
(That way for emergencies etc, you can still do them, but long term they need to be voted on)

@Ghostsof1915 add “no former reality tv contestants or hosts with no political background or experience” as well

@#Canucks So what do you gotta say about the armed magats outside the ballot station at Maricopa County?
-
@Pears I don’t agree with it. But if someone comes after you or your family, you must protect them or yourself.

Is anyone a professional with Facebook Ads that wouldn't mind me DM'ing them a question?

Received a physical visa gift card from the US as a gift from a vendor. It states "for use in US only". I was able to register it online with a US address but couldn't use it on a couple canadian sites. Anyone know if there's any unique way to use the balance on this gift card? Don't mind using it to buy a gift card to another company too but whenever I go to a US website it automatically switches to their canadian site.

Thanks @Robert Long and @peaches5

I really miss the outdoors more than anything. I miss being able to hike. Years ago, I was backpacking across Western Europe. I was just outside Barcelona, hiking in the foothills of mount Tibidabo. I was at the end of this path, and I came to a clearing, and there was a lake, very secluded, and there were tall trees all around. It was dead silent. Gorgeous.

ICBC no fault system coming. Stay tuned.

Be careful what you wish for @Alflives. When I moved from BC to Alberta, my insurance went up. And when I was in an accident (no fault of my own) it was brutal trying to get the other guy's insurance company to talk to my insurance company. They wanted me to pay for all the repairs up front and then get reimbursed. It seems that all the studies out there cherry pick the customers to make things look the way they want them too. I've seen some pretty crazy things come out of private insurers. Having private auto insurance is not all sunshine and rainbows like they would lead you to believe.
I agree that ICBC is a mess, but I think that mess needs to be fixed, not replaced. It used to be the model for how public insurance should work.

@Seannnp I was at the table when this was first proposed by Eby and to discuss ramifications on the health care providers sector

Don't think Baer will actually step foot in Utica. No one is going to claim LE or Schaller. There just might be some interest in Baer. If he gets claimed, not only does he relieve cap space for us, but he gets a legitimate shot elsewhere. No room in our top 6 for him, and he isn't an effective bottom 6 checker.

Happy David Koch is dead day everyone! The countdown is on for his equally as evil, POS brother.

@48MPHSlapShot lol gtfo the Koch brothers are evil b@st@rds who would burn the world down if it meant an extra few bucks in their bank accounts. Go look up how they manipulate cities into forgoing public transit initiatives and instead make them spend tax dollars on roads and fossil fuels because they own the monopoly on them. F*ck David and hope his brother bites it soon

@NucksPatsFan Celebrating someone's death and wishing death upon someone else because you disagree with their political views or don't like the way they conduct business.
You're a disgusting, despicable human being.
I would urge anybody that sees this and agrees with the above poster to preemptively throw me on ignore, as I have no wish to ever converse with scumbag human beings that would wish death upon others.

@48MPHSlapShot lolololol Such a saint

Dinner recommendations in Victoria? In town for 4 days on my own for a conference and meetings. Anything native to Victoria? Cactus is my go to chain.

Anyone know a good place to get a set of baseball/softball tee shirts? Those ones with the 3/4 sleeves?
Thanks
-
I used https://www.passionsports.ca for my floor hockey team t-shirts. They did a great job and the price was reasonable. I checked their online catalogue and they do 3/4 sleeve shirts too.
-
@goalie13 Thanks! I'll give them a call

If you want horrendous, terrible customer service, try to become a Shaw internet and cable customer. 2 weeks ago was supposed to have it installed between 11-1, the tech called at noon to say he ain't coming. I was told by his supervisor it'd be rebooked for the 29th. Just called to confirm, no appointment was ever made, earliest they have is Jan 10.... They must hate acquiring new customers? Lucky for Telus, they'll retain me.

Is there any one/where I can contact regarding Canada Post? Very important medicine for a family member has been sitting Processed at the Richmond processing center since October 25. This BS has dragged on too long. Can I go pick up the package myself?
- Show previous comments 4 more
-
@peaches5 I called them - they said it's in the processing facility still but due to the strike it won't be attended to until it's over. I said why was it in the facility on October 25 and the Richmond facility didn't go on strike until November 9? SHE HUNG UP ON ME.
-
I am will to bet she just assumed it was because of the strike unless they stopped working before that just so people would feel some sort of delay in their packages. Every package has a deliver by date and it should only be in processing for a few days a week tops it was in there for almost 3 weeks.prior to the strike so my bet is it got lost. Just don't use Canada post for any type of shipping if you can choose. They have always been horrible. They will be out of business short anyway.

Switched to Freedom Mobile because a free s9+ for $50/month and nothing upfront was a huge draw. Terrible service, people are complaining they can't call me. I have $900 left on my tab (and keep the phone). Telus is offering me to come over for $85/month for 5GB data.
Think it's worth eating the $900 ? Retail price of the phone is $1100 and $800 on craigslist.

Shot in the dark, but is anyone on CDC an accountant with US tax experience?

Sure would be great if the CRA hired some English speaking agents ... hard to discuss serious matters when the agent representing the government can't understand me..

Anyone know of any cell phone plan deals going on? Whether it's new phones on for $0 with contract, or bill credit for switching over from another company. I'm with Bell but willing to switch.

Does anyone know of any place in the lower mainland that rents ice skates for the day? Have a few tickets to skate at Rogers Arena and some friends don't own skates. TYIA

That is super fun! I went ice skating at Rogers Arena. Fin was there, and it was selfie time behind the Canucks bench and in the center of the rink, and skating around. I like to see how fast I can go when I have my space! They can probably pick up a cheap pair of skates at Walmart or a similar store.
