OMG Rain?

Growing up here I am used to rain rain rain.... but in 2010 I had moved to Alberta. (Big mistake haha) was there for the great flood.   I remember when that rain started thinking wow this is like back home then it just got worse and worse, and well we all know what happened.   I ended up taking in some some of my staff because they lost their homes.

This storm and the road situation is like flashbacks from when the flood in Alberta went from really bad rain, possible flooding to complete $&!# show.

Just had the scare of my life driving with a friend to try and get to his son’s house whose basement is flooding. There were several places on Vye Road where the water is flowing fast over the road and threatened to carry his truck away. Never made it to his farm and lucky to get out of there!  The Nooksack River has flooded and has wiped out the railway tracks near the border. In hours most of Sumas Prairie will likely be under water. Some farmers are trying to evacuate herds. Stay high, stay dry.

Getting tired of hearing "An every hundred year event" when this carp happens every 4-5 years.

Also noticing a trend on t.v. and from city spokes peopel/information officers:

Why do so many have a British accent? Do the powers that be, think it sounds more authorative, or reassuring ?

I came back from Chilliwack Sunday early afternoon and it was totally passable at Whatcom. The odd side road was getting flooded in one lane where water pooled, but nothing like this. The other pictures being where the girliefriend lives in Chilliwack; where her horse is stabled is a small lake now too.

Fortunately for me, I'm in Langley, where the flooding is bad, but not nearly as bad as Abbotsford or Chilliwack. I've never seen flooding this bad near me in my entire life.

The exit at Whatcom road in Abbotsford:

This is my exit. Yesterday afternoon emergency personnel were diverting cars off the highway and letting the bulk of the traffic go south on Whatcom. We were just coming back from Vye road and north on Whatcom was the only way out. There are a lot of farms on the south side of the highway that will have lost all their livestock.

This is the latest view from my front window.

I saw a jet boat on this part of #1 this morning that seemed to be just fooling around. I hope it’s not just another Instagram a**hole!
