Kid makes several arrogantly impressive statements, including he is ready for the nhl because quote he feels "too dominant" in college..

They asked him how he feels he has improved from last year to this year and he said he feels he is more dominant on the ice. 

 

No where did he say he is too dominant for the NCAA.

Haven’t heard the interview yet, but there’s truth to what he’s saying (even if it’s not what he was saying). For example, I believe Hughes has something like a 60-70% rate on controlled exits. These are just crazy numbers. He’s able to advance the puck, with control, seemingly at will. It’s fun to watch, but I’m not sure it’s enough of a challenge to actually develop his game much further (or at least that part of his game). He almost has too many options, given the way he can control a game, and basically choose whatever path he wants from his own zone to the attacking zone, and he can just get there off his natural abilities.

if you search for problems you will find them.  i find it best to search for positivity, as guess what?  you find that too.  the only real problem is when you make stuff up by extending what you have heard with no regard for the truth.   its popular these days....

So did he actually say "too dominant" as you quoted? The "too" is extremely significant. Because he obviously is dominant at that level.

Exactly. The is a hughes difference between MORE dominant and TOO dominant.

Typically anytime a player refers to them selves or their skill set as "dominant" in any context or capacity thats not a humble note.

 

Mark my words this will come back to haunt him regardless of how you choose to interpet what he said i got what I got out of that interview.
