Popular Post Coconuts
For the sake of having something that isn't dreary or related to injuries or firing someone let's try something different? CDC's got a broad age range amongst it's users so I'm sure we'll get some neat stuff here. My favourite experience was probably meeting Willie Mitchell and Kirk McLean in Nanaimo for some hockey related event back in 2017. Morrison was there too but I can't remember whether I had a chance to meet him or not. I live on the island and don't leave it much so my chances to meet Canucks are pretty slim, Mitchell's still a massive dude and looked like he could play pro hockey if he wanted to. The only other experience that comes to mind was my single Canucks game during the mid 2010's against Nashville, those were some rough times but they came out with a win! 3 2 2
Popular Post ruilin96
The 2011 Stanley Cup Final run was amazing. I love the 2019-20 season as well. Especially the bubble playoffs. August of 2020 was the most fun I had watching hockey since 2011. Not sure when we will get this level of excitement again. 1 3

-AJ-
In person, I've not really been to many games or seen many players. The best was probably going to an alumni game and Naslund being the special guest. He surprised us by bringing Bertuzzi too, which was cool. As a fan in general, it's slaying the dragon for sure. Matt Cooke in 2004 would've been more exciting if we had actually won the series. 1 2
Popular Post CRAZY_4_NAZZY
My Dad took me to a Canucks game and it was the first preseason game against the San Jose Sharks in 2000. It was the first year the Sedins came to Vancouver...I remember the team store was pumping out Sedin paraphernalia. My Dad bought me a puck that said "Double Trouble" with Henrik and Daniel's draft picture on it. I was 6 at the time, and my Dad told me, "Remember those two names son, they are going to be something special". He was right, ever since then, I was a fan of the Sedins. Drive-By Body Pierce
It was an 8 or so game losing streak, when Kesler was battling like a madman along the boards in the defensive zone to get the puck. He then banks it off the boards around his check, to Burrows on the move, who moves in on a breakaway with his patented forehand-to-backhand-to- roof move to get (what I believe was) the game winner against Carolina, snapping the losing streak. IBatch
For me it's either listening to Bure score Game 7 vs CAL on the radio during an early pre-planned camping trip...or a month or so later biking home for game 7 Cup Final .... never pedalled so hard in my life..work kept me until shortly after 4:30...got home and missed the first 5 minutes or so but was so grateful to be there and knew it was a big moment. Have other memories too. My first live game, splurged for front row seats. Felt like i was entering a chapel. All white boards. Tim Hunter slapping pucks at my face during warm ups while i was grinning like an idiot .... skated by later with a sly grin on his face and tapped the glass. The first 10 or so games i always walked down during warm-ups, cheered the guys on and ribbed and booed the opposition (do they even let grown ups do that now if your not in the reds?).... If it was one moment, it had to be with me and my young adult buddies and gals camping on the northern part of Cowichan lake in the Spring. We had the entire campsite to ourselves (back then you could do that). Not a soul around. Sitting with a trailer and radio next to a fire on a log. Still light out...we were freaks and a lot of us swam that day so we're cold. Then when Bure scored ... and while screaming our heads off we heard another group doing the exact same thing in the distance. Back and forth we went for a full five minutes it was awesome. 1 2
brilac
I really liked skating on the ice at Rogers Arena! I was an Ice Pack member for a few seasons had the opportunity to go up to Vancouver and skate at Rogers arena. It was great. I skated around, looked at everything while skating, sat on the ice in the center of the rink, and sat behind the bench. I'm sure there are other great memories, but that is what comes to mind right now. I really liked the Canucks events as well. Like the Summer Summit and going into the Canucks dressing room during one event. Edited October 29, 2021 by brilac

Popular Post Mike Vanderhoek
January 1997 my first Canucks game! I jokingly said to one of my friends parents one day when I answered the phone " I hear you are taking me a Canucks game ? "......well a week or two later he calls me and says " better grab your stuff we are going to the game " ( I live on the Sunshine Coast so this was going to be an overnight adventure in the city, I was 17 ? at the time ). So he grabs tickets to the Panthers at Canucks, Florida was my second favorite team, loved Radek Dvorak and had his jersey, wore it when playing drop in hockey and John Vanbiesbrouck was second only to Kirk McLean for me. I remember always listening to and watching games on tv, but we pull up park at "the Garage" back then. I remember it being almost surreal for me anyways haha, walking up to the rink and all the people with jerseys on, the pregame on the radio coming from the outdoor speakers surrounding the arena, walking up to the lineup and the usher moving us along...it was pretty cool for me, then walking the concourse and looking through the curtain at one of the entrances to the seats and I caught a glimpse of the scoreboard with the big Canucks skate logo....dorky but was a major moment for me. Walking around with the sights, sounds, the atmosphere just soaking it all in, then my friend's parent turns to me and says where are our seats ? I couldn't figure it out, but eventually we get to an area with a concierge and he walks us to one of the suites between the lower and upper bowl, as a kid from a modest ? upbringing this was quite the experience for me. I remember pulling up a comfy seat and we had all we could eat and drink so we spoiled ourselves...but just staring out onto the ice, John Ashbridge on the PA, all the little details just soaking it in, something I have always watched or hear don the radio was still pinching myself. Then the players came out, the game got underway. Kirk McLean in goal, Vanbiesbrouck on the bench to start but he came into the game by the third period. I remember a Mogilny breakway, seeing both he and Bure on the ice, Esa Tikkanen, Scott Walker, a young Markus Naslund, both Gino and Brashear on the ice too. And on the Panthers I got to see Radek Dvorak in person so that was pretty cool for me, a young Jovo Cop for the Panthers too. I think it was a tie game 4 all I believe. But seeing so many plays, hits, chances, and saves burned in my memory that night while indulging in whatever I wanted to eat/drink watching my Canucks and seeing that NHL hockey in person for the first time, well I can still smell the concessions, feel that surreal feeling first walking into the rink......anyways bit of a run on here but that was an awesome night for me, can remember it like yesterday. So while there may be better ? experiences, nothing compares to that first game for me. 2
Popular Post Kragar
Late 90's, seeing and getting up the nerve to talk to one of my faves, Stan Smyl, at YVR. Tongue-tied as all hell, but it was fun to thank him for everything he did. Going to my first ever playoff game, Game 4 Conference Finals, 1982. 2nd game of Towel Power. Was so amazed at the all the emotion in the crowd, everyone standing and screaming, waving their towels. So powerful. I was worn out after that one. Thanks Dad! 4 1
