Demko, Petey, Hughes.  That’s the big three.

you're a heart and soul guy Alf is Pete gonna lead us into battle? Who is leading the Charge?

is Demko the rear admiral.

Hughes?

Pete got the heart of a lion? Naslund doesn't have his jersey in the rafters without Bert.

Bo doesn't get it done alone. Miller is our Kes

Yep, it is ridiculous only 3 teams in the west are below 500.

Yup, west is way more wide open than the east. We won tonight, but three of the teams we're chasing also won. Calgary's still ahead of us with games in hand, and Vegas isn't realistic to catch at this point. They're ten points in front of us with one more game played, we're not likely to win every remaning head to head against them either.

Every game the rest of the division wins while we win is one less opportunity left to actually gain ground. Next game against the Flames is extremely important if they want to stay in the race.

Gotta love the Highmore trade. Who did we lose for him?

let’s keep Miller,

Pearson, Halak, chiasson can go

You know it was Gaudette. He showed promise, then flamed. Highmore’s high energy, forechecking game is far more valuable to this team now, regardless of point production.

Miller leaving as a UFA would be the worst.

Who do we get in return though? I dont want New Yorks garbage 30th spot 1st round picks.

Would rather try to swindle a bottom feeder into thinking they could compete next year and get their picks. Plus we have a better shot at finding good players thatll outplay their trade value on garbage teams (they've had bad linemates, demoralized, etc.). If we trade for New Yorks roster players we might end up getting guys that are overrated b/c they have good linemates.

Definitely, but the rest of the division certainly isn't making it easy on us

Nope.

And we shouldn’t expect to get in a playoff spot after a couple of weeks.

Its gonna take the rest of the runway to get in. That’s why Boudreau has them focused on winning the week.

A few wins in a row along with those California teams coming back to reality and things could look pretty different come trade deadline.

It’s entirely possible to keep the core if cap goes up, shed some dead weight, and players don’t go for max deals.

Cap not going up for years.

Players owe the owners over a Billion dollars because of Covid.

That has to be paid back over the next few years before cap starts going up again.

1m cap increase was allowed at beginning of this year. So that's about all it will go up.

It’s a tall task but I’ll be cheering all the way
