Awesome news, but the 1.75 per season is a little steep....

Did I just freak you out with that number? Damn, I wish it was April 1st again.... ;)

Shame on you.  Hahahah

Unfortunately for Martin, Benning is gone and the ridiculous overpayments should be too.

For a guy who's never played more than 3 NHL games in one season in his entire career, let's hope he's capable of playing substantially more than that.

It'd be ideal if he could play between 15-20 games or so at a high level.

This is pretty much what I expected, and supported. We play Demko a lot on this team, and let's face it - he had a good game last night but Halak is hit and miss. I don't think this appreciably downgrades our goaltending, and the price is right.

Be great to see him in the line up next season

and this almost guarantees Silovs gets the lead minutes in Abby..

I wonder if Koskenvuo gets to make the move to ECHL for top minutes there.

… wondering if M Dipetro is will be traded in a package?

Congrats Mr Martin !

Yeah, this indicates that the team is either hopeful that Martin's play in the AHL can carry over and that they are OK in case it doesn't. In other words, they are leaning towards a retool and taking a step back instead of immediate upgrading of the roster.
