Beary Sweet
Wooooo! Absolutely thrilled with this signing. Never been any happier that we are able to land a KHL star that is as good as Kuzmenko. Let’s hope he quickly adjusts to NHL style of play and continues his fine, stellar play. Welcome Kuzy! 1 2
nergish
Feels good, don't it? Obviously my glasses are rose-coloured as all heck... but I've been watching video on this guy for months, and I really can see his play translating to the NHL. He seems to be a touch slower than the average KHL star, but in a controlled kind of way - more methodical, with high IQ and playmaking ability, and not just buzzing around without structure.
Popular Post DrJockitch
Big, strong puck hound. Sounds like nice free prospect. Hope he turns into a player for us. Now add Nichuskin and we have a great Russian third line brewing. 3 1

johngould21
The smile on his face last week says all there is about him choosing Vancouver. The fact that a coach was in on the negotiations probably sealed it. The City itself should have sold him.

It was kind of confirmed by Buble as well with his comments. Benning was regularly asked about something to do with issues about a player and he would say something like "we talk with their agents fairly regularly". It definitely came across that he didn't see it as his job to interact with the players on a personal level. All the comments from players leaving saying that they didn't get any communication reinforces that. When JR started a reporter asked if someone from the organization had spoken to a player/or their camp about some issue, and JR seemed kind of taken aback and answered "I spoke with the player a few times this week about it."Guys like Burke or JR/Allvin seems like they value lots of communication and the personal connection and think that is an important part of players feeling valued. I don't get the sense that players won't know what is expected of them and feedback for better or worse under this new management structure. You can't get a true feel for a situation or a person without direct interaction. Indirect (relying on others) can give "A picture" but not "the picture" as it relates to you. It's why the best bosses are the ones who are willing and able to muck in when the time comes to do that. It's not their JOB to do it, but sometimes it's needed. The connection with "how it is on the ground" goes a LONG ways. Being accessible as "the boss" means if there's a pain point or something it can be addressed quickly rather than bogging the works down. If this is the new way forward, it's the right way forward and I'm more optimistic than I was yesterday. 4
Bad_BOI_pete
kuzmenko's 67 points in 61 games prorated to 82 games = 99 points *.74 khl translation = 67 points over 82 games. Thats a first line forward for free!

I noticed one guy who always stood out. And that was Kuzmenko. He's big, and strong, and skilled, and fearless. He will be excellent in our forward group. Good to hear. I knew they played on a line together but hadn't see any of his game other than vids now posted here and the usual write ups. I like the fact he chose us because its a strong endorsement of our management team / coaches and their professionalism and class, not only him and his agent but clearly others they talked to around the league and for certain Podz.... Having both him and Podz together here may even bring more out of Podz because of the chemistry, and even some brotherly comfort. It will be nice for Podz to have a countryman and friend here as well. Smart move by the Canucks Edited June 20, 2022 by NucknAsia 3 1

Playing alongside our youthful forwards including Podz must have played a part. He's been promised top-6 minutes and PP time (probably on the 2nd unit). If he's even a 20 goal scorer this is huge for our depth. Kuz-Bo-Podz will surely get a lot of time together. It may be a bit too soon to trade away another young forward because of course Kuz could be a flop, and sounds like JRs working hard to settle Brock's contract, but does that mean Garland's the odd man out? Garland straight up for Marino fills a lot of gaps, or straight up for Zacha? As it stands, we're stacked with young, good wingers: Pettersson - Miller - Boeser Kuz - Horvat - Podkolzin Garland - ? - Pearson Highmore - Lammikko - Hoglander Garland is on an excellent contract and would have been a 70 PT player last season IF he had power play time.. IMO Boeser and Miller should both be gone before Garland. Miller we cant afford his contract demands (most likely) and Boeser is slow, injury prone and also makes too much. Miller and Boeser should get us decent returns while freeing up 11 million in cap. 5 3

Maddogy
It's pretty clear with Vasili Vodkolzin being a lesser former teammate in KHL (deployment by coach) and yet settling well in the NHL and I'm sure having nice things to share about his experience in Vancouver and Bruce Boudreau having previously coached Ovechkin, the Russian connection is relatedly strong.
