Management has two years left in their three year contracts.  There is zero chance they will make rebuilding a priority.  Our owner wants his management to build a winner around the current core five.  Any moves will be to follow the owner’s direction.

JR won't care, the work was never gonna be done during his time here, his legacy is already cemented

In hindsight it was a mistake to extend Miller. It's okay to make mistakes as long as you take the opportunity to rectify those mistakes when they arise. Here's hoping.

In foresight as well...

The one fathomable trade I could see for Miller is a cap for cap type move where we're taking a more short-term dump. For example someone like Josh Bailey or Zaitsev(as contract examples and not team ones)

Perhaps it's the only type of deal you perhaps could get a decent return back too that isn't just long-term cap relief.

I would be hard pressed to do more than 2 years on any contract coming back though.

There's teams out there that can do it.  There would definitely be some cap coming bad, no question........hopefully some of it expiring.

Well, they've got to make two deals, at the very least.

Yup, if they want to keep Horvat they'll need to shed cap, if they can't manage it or he wants to move on there's at least one

At which point you may as well move Miller too, he doesn't fit the timeline of a rebuild

At which point you probably see Kuzmenko flipped too, maybe Schenn if we really embrace being sellers

If they plan on keeping miller and boeser, horvat and Kuz are gone.......tyen next year probably Petey, Hughes, demko

Basically the only scenario that is realistic is exactly what the OEL trade was, but the roles are reversed for us.

Only way we move Miller is if it's for 1-3 players who have 1-3 years left on bad contracts and we just have to wait it out.

Anyone who thinks Miller will net us actual quality players or picks is dreaming.

I expect a first linchpin trade, that frees enough cap to attempt to resign Bo. A significant contract for expiring cap

Oh good, then next year we can all sit around and complain about management signing a guy to a retirement contract based solely around his one single season where he shattered his own records and now we're hoping some team can help bail us out of this mistake.

Hmmmmm.. no thanks.

I don't think so, miller is more valuable and he also doesn't have any kind of ntc........oel had two teams he'd go to and that hamstrings everything

dude leave KK alone, 4 million cap hit for a 4c....

He would likely have to be one of the pieces coming back.  The good part of that is they'd likely be giving a great sweetener to do it.

He's also not a lost cause yet and might be a good 3c behind Petey and horvat
