Benning finishes 6th in voting for the Jim Gregory GM of the Year Award. I wonder how HFBoards is taking this news.

I had a dream the Canucks were down 6-4 late in the third and they scored two goals to tie it, with Miller scoring the game-tying goal. No idea what happened next. Foreshadowing?

I had a dream last night that after a close game three victory, in game four, the Canucks were up 3-1 starting the third. After scoring an early goal to go up 4-1 and then, after a bit of a scrum, Virtanen laid a beat down on one of the Wild in a fight and the fans went insane, chanting "Jake! Jake! Jake! Jake!". I was filled with an intense euphoria knowing we had made it to the playoffs and Virtanen was proving his doubters wrong.

Important question: Do I start growing a playoff beard during the play-in round or in Round 1 if we beat Minnesota?

I had a dream last night that I was at a party with Horvat and Boeser and Horvat showed me a copy of Benning & Co.'s most recent offer to Markstrom. I didn't get the rest of the details, but it was for $5.29M per year and I said there's no way he takes that, to which Bo agreed.

5.29 eh... how many years were on the deal ?
Seems fair to me .... 5.3 Mill USD to play in Vancouver? I'd take that than play for a country doomed with civil war. Even if they gave me 10 mill USD i would never play for an american team. Would gladly take 750k and play for a Canadian team instead and maintain my pride and honour.
Long live the greatest nation on earth!

Strange I had the same dream..then we were all magically teleported to L Lager's farm for a Marley live show. Lennon, Jimi, Janis. Bonzo..they were all jammin' & jivin
Mods arrived w/the cops to say we're ALL suspended for a week. Then it unraveled into a unfathomable Biden speech about meaningless dreams...

Man, hockey does something to me emotionally that nothing else does. Must be my Canadian blood.

for me it started by listening to foster hewitt and his play by play of hockey night in canada on the big radio on saturday nights. maybe in 1945. once it is in your blood, there is no escape. as we are excited about our young stars today, i was just as excited back then but young rookies such as gordie howe and jean beliveau. the game has improved and got faster but the enjoyment remains the same for me.

I'm in the process of writing up a long hockey history article that I think I'll post to CDC in case anyone wants a time killer.

In an effort to prove to myself that I am indeed ageless and am definitely not starting to experience the effects of aging, I successfully completed that handstand challenge that's going around. On the fourth try, but it's something.

Throwback to the first NHL video game I ever played:

Given the down time, I'm considering doing a Top 50 Canucks of All-Time poll series (akin to the ones done in 2011). Would there be interest in that?

@-Vintage Canuck- Last time, @Champions of Nothing did the Top 40 Canucks of All-Time list, but it was just 40 since it was the 40-year anniversary. I saved the later list of Top 50 players of all-time, but I never saved the Top 40 Canucks of All-Time list.

Just got billed for an automatically renewing year of SN Now+. When I asked if I could cancel, they simply told me they don't do refunds. So now I'm out $300 bucks. EDIT: They apparently have given me a refund now. We'll see if it goes through.

@Chickenspear How are you spending 125 dollars a month on a phone bill? That's ridiculous.
-
@Dazzle Was paying high rent, roommate bailed on me, money was tight. I fell behind a month as I said, my phone contract was $80/month.
-
@Chickenspear My bad. I missed the parts before.

Anyone notice the insane difference between our home records and road records?
Home: 19-7-3, .707 point %
Road: 13-15-2, .467 point %
Wonder why there's such an extreme difference.

Opinions on Tkachuk's fight with Kassian?
I don't like Tkachuk, but I respect him for taking the fight this time (even though he was thrashed). Better late than never. I get the feeling like Kassian respected it too and agreed that they're even up now and their feud is over (for now).

Looked at my bank account and was pleasantly surprised, so I decided to take a look at housing prices to see if I could actually consider buying.
Suffice it to say I won't be any time soon.

Anyone know how the roads are in Langley? I'm not sure how much it snowed last night, but my side streets were already horrible.

Also, you can get a few from the Township of Langley traffic cameras

Kind of wishing my work had snow days like school used to.

Well, true, not a lot of crazy hills in Winnipeg, like say in Burnaby. I was kind of joking because as a kid we had to walk to school in -25 weather, and unless there was a real storm, we never got a snow day. I find it a little funny. Heck, as a small kid I remember putting my skates on at home, and skating to the community centre to play hockey on the outdoor rinks. Then I'd skate home lol Streets were icy eh?

Hilariously, despite being on the playoff line, if you look by point percentage, both Vancouver and the Jets are actually 1st in the Pacific.
-
Good game to miss, evidently. We'll move on. It's one game. We're still 7-1 in the last 8 games.

Went home from work early! Feels weird to be home by 4pm.
