How about asking those in Edmonton who've watched him play the past three years.

No one really has a problem with Lucic, the hockey player, in Edmonton. Certainly not the level of hate that  Eriksson gets around here.

It’s Lucic’s contract that’s the problem.

What does hitting have to do with speed? Have you even seen him play the past 2 seasons? He can't score, he can't skate, he can't pass, he can't keep up with teammates. He only scored 2 goals in the entire calendar year of 2018. Plus he gets paid too much for a year longer than Eriksson. Cool he can hit and fight, that's also what Gudbranson was here, do not need a redux.

That is the sort of contribution you pay $700,000 for, not $7,000,000 (I know, I know it is 6).  Calgary really needs some toughness though.

I would have taken Neal for Erikkson.  His contract could be bought out.

Haven't seen yet how much is retained and what kind of conditional pick was thrown in.

Maybe he’s like our Loui?

He had a confrontation with Bill Peters during the playoffs vs Colorado and was a healthy scratch in game 5...Yup, but worst than Loui.

Neal was not used properly in his deployment....although, he did not play well during the season, he was demoted and played in a lesser roll. Because of his mediocre play, he never got the chance to play a whole lot with the top lines.

By waiving his NMC to leave Edmonton, does that mean he does not have to be protected in the expansion draft?

Depends.  Lucic’s Agent might write an addendum to the contract allowing this one trade, but the full NMC carries on.  The Flames would have to sign it, or there would be no trade.  Likely Looch wants out of Edmonton so much, he will waive his clauses, and walk to Calgary.
