I loved the peak of the Twins era in Vancouver, as much as the West Coast Express and the days of Bure with Linden, McLean, didn't quite get here in time for King Richard's reign but these were all great times. In the past, years ago.

I really like the make up of this team now, excited to see Hughes further develop as he is the type of defenseman this organization has not yet seen here.

I think there will be bumps in the road still, some rough patches and the smiles of today will shift to anger and pitchforks and back and forth still...but the team is on the rise and may be able to challenge for contendership in the nearer future. Fun times.

I think if Hughes shows he’s ready that’ll give Juolevi some time to develop in the AHL. As for Baertschi, I’m just under the impression that he’ll be traded.

At what point does it become tampering when a company that owns over a third of the Leafs  (Rogers/Sportsnet and Bell/TSN each own 37.5% of the Leafs) uses its media to make sales pitches to players that are under contract.

There is a 2 hour time difference between Chicago and LA. I'm having a bit of a problem discerning if those times quoted in the tweet are Chicago time or LA time. No matter the time zone, it still doesn't adequately explain how Patrick Kane would be in a bar bathroom at closing time when he would have been on a plane.

More info regarding the flight. The departure was in PST time and the game officially ended on 9:32 PM PST. Unless if Kane left his teammates behind (Not possible without any sort of punishment from the team.), there would've been no time for him to go to a bar what so ever.

Thought Cougars were going to go a lot farther in the playoffs with their roster. That fills the hole with Guhle gone of a top 2 D

Guhle could still come back seeing all the moves Buffalo made. But yea if Edmonds made a save here and there we would've made it to at least the third round.

NYR added Panarin and Kakko.  NJD Subban and Hughes and Hall is healthy.  Their younger players like Hischier are also improving. That's going to have an effect on NYI who are direct rivals - it's harder for NYI to win against them this season compared to last season.

They've got a few that are pretty far off, but most of them are decent. 

Edmonton with that "upgraded" goaltending, the Euro pipedreams, and recycled UFA/PTO crew manning the bottom half of the roster... gold.

I can't see Edmonton trading their pick. If they got Matthews, Tkachuk or one of the Finns they are set.

They could then trade 1-2 forwards not named McDavid or Draisitl for D.

If we could get away with McCann++ then I'd do it but anything more I'd pass.

Actually I'd say that's pretty close for a single year of EK.

Honestly, if we had a player that was essentially out the door and we had a return of that nature....it would essentially signal the end of our rebuild.

For Ottawa that now risks losing EK and Hoffman 3 stud prospects plus an extra late 1st is the entire world because Karlsson is gone no matter what

That was what Ottawa wanted from Vegas at the deadline so if he's moved it'll be for something similar to that. VGK sees Glass as untouchable though.

@NewbieCanuckFan McCann was a 1st round pick. The graph is about teams success in the 3rd-7th rounds. 

If I remember correctly - From 2010-2018 the Vancouver canucks have only had 7% of their 2nd round+ picks turn out to be NHL players. It's like 28th or 29th in the NHL.
