Not making the playoffs would be a waste of his talent, and arguably some of his prime years. He is already peaking all over the place, just as Q. Hughes will be. They have a forward group that has size and speed and tenacity on every line with the right mix of skill. There is an identity to this team. They are fast and tough with players who can snipe. Hell, they had just had two 100+ point players last season and still missed the playoffs. You need a competent defensive core if you want to make the playoffs. The Canucks do not currently have that.
